ONE DAY GONE ~

One day my daughter and her family are enjoying a beautiful home in Napa.  Then next day, it looks like this picture above.  The Napa Valley fires are still alive and taking houses.  My daughter and her family are fine, but they lost everything.  Their wedding was here two years ago and simply beautiful.  I'm asking today for prayers for her family and our friends who have lost so much through these fires.  They have 3 boys who lost all their things here too.

GOD IS ABLE ~
To restore, rebuild and make all things new

I'm trying to be spiritual about this, but it's hard to find words. There are no words to someone who lost everything but the clothes on their backs.  Her husband had to go the bathroom about midnight and saw flames out their bathroom window.  Thank God he had to go to the bathroom.  I keep thinking they could have died in the fire because they didn't know there was a fire.  My heart is broken for them and thankful they are alive.

GOD IS ABLE ~ I do have a scripture after all
Ephesians 3:20-21  New King James Version (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

God's power is real, but when something happens like fire, you just wonder why.  Why do people have to loose their homes and all they have?  Some people have lost their lives and missing even as I write this.  Questions that can make our minds wonder, but trusting God in every moment of this time.  Friends, I don't have all the answers and my heart breaks not only for my daughter and family, but so many friends affected too.  We know another family for over 30 years and they lost everything too.  I'm asking prayer for things we don't understand today and knowing that GOD IS ABLE.

There are a few things we shouldn't say when people loose it all.  Here we go, "at least you are alive.  Yes, I am alive but my heart is broken". I think it's the word at least that bugs me. The depth of loosing it all, nobody knows but you who have lost it all.  Just be available if needed,  send a gift card to families who loose it all or money.  They need to rebuild and even with insurance, they don't have that money today.  I posted this on my Facebook and I have received some messages for friends far away and here, who are sending gift cards to Tracy, Sean and the boys.  They need our help to get back up again.  If you know someone, just say this, "I can't image what you are going through, but I care".  This is just my opinion and you have your own, but I felt to share it today.

My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. My prayers continue for the people involved with the Napa and Sonoma fires.  It is not contained at all.  God please help the firefighters, first responders, doctors, nurses, staff at hospitals, volunteers everywhere and police officers. I'm sure the list goes on more, but God knows.

What do I need?  I need your prayers as my heart is broken for Tracy's Family, The Hess Family and so many others.  They need your prayers too.  Also, for all the families I don't know your name, but God does.  Thank you to all who respond to my call for prayer and also gift cards.  Each of us makes a difference in lives of others.  I have a friend named Sonia, who stopped by yesterday to hand Tracy a gift card.  It's helps to buy needs for today. Thank you to all from the middle of my heart!  Chazz, I know you read this and thank you for your message on Facebook and your gift for them.

Janet...this is beautifully written and thank you for the gentle reminder about how to respond to others. Christian platitudes are meaningless and hurtful at a time like this. Your words are real and they are helpful.
I am so sad for Tracy and her family and for Bobbie and Harold...and all the people I know including my brother in law who is waiting to hear if their house is still standing.....
