TIME ~ is a gift given by God. Daily we have cross paths with people we know and people we don't know. I was entering Starbucks in Napa and came across two men outside. One who recognized me and his wife had died. He was talking to his pastor and the pastor said I had a name to be remembered, Sparkie. I had a brief conversation with them and realized the importance of life. While so many people lost their houses in Napa, he said he wished he had lost his house and not his wife. A heart felt moment and I cared that he was hurting so bad inside. But what words could I say to help? I told him that I can not image your pain, but I do care and glad you have someone to have coffee with and share time. I know from personal experience of watching my mom through my dad's death, we get through things, but never really over people who die before us.
Isaiah 40:31 New International Version (NIV)
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
TIME ~ Renew your strength
A time for everything and a heart that learns to breathe in all seasons.
ONE CONVERSATION ~
Lets go back to the above story. As I saw the two men outside Starbucks, I walked inside and stood waiting to order my coffee. Behind me in line was a mom in a wheel chair and a daughter talking to her. The daughter spoke of making mom soup on a cold night. She continued to say how good it was for her. Her mom was so thankful. They had just came from the doctor. I had a moments of fighting back tears. I miss my mom more at that moment than ever. I asked them both if I could please buy their tea. A big smile on both faces and they said yes. We talked about 5 of the daughter’s friends lost their home in the fires. She asked if I knew anyone who lost their home. I said my daughter and her family. They both had tears in their eyes and so did I. I’m glad I had this moment to be kind to people I don’t even know.
I writing you today about sharing life with others. Just a short conversation with someone you don't know can make you feel connected in life. The two men outside Starbucks and the two women inside Starbucks. It was within minutes that both these conversations took place for me. I could see how God places people in the right place at the right time. Moments to be remember and sharing God's love through each one. It's important to listen to people and important to share real life too.
I find myself looking for opportunities to share hope. I wasn't always like this, but lately, I just feel the importance of sharing a smile or even a little story. My past has stories of warning, victories and wisdom. I don't know it all, but I do know enough to share stories to help others. We must put our trust in God and allow him to change us daily into a better person, not bitter. It takes time to move forward in some areas of life.
Psalm 28:7-9 New International Version (NIV)7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.
I care about you (readers of my blog), your family and friends. Never stop breathing or believing God is able to handle your now of life. Sometimes deep breathe, a story of what God has already done in your life and a good friend helps. Purpose this a good day!
