This is not what I experienced in school ~ A NOTE!
My school years began in 1960 and graduation was 1973. I also went to College. Notes much like the one in the picture were folded and passed around throughout middle school. Each little square represented a word or phase to continue onto the next pull of the note. You would not get the complete purpose of the note, until it was all pulled apart. Then the story or message was revealed.
OLD SCHOOL ~
Often known to many as back in the day when I was young! I remember notes being passed around and I never got one. I would watch others open it up and begin to laugh. I always wondered what was so funny and I never understood. I wasn't a popular kid or even liked by many. I stood alone most of the time and remember wanting to fit in. Hoping that someday I would get a note much like this in the picture and I could pull it and see the story unfold. It was like a giant secret between two people or maybe even more. I just didn't know the secret.
THE BIBLE ~
Is a book full of stories. Some people might think it's old school, but it's not. Lessons of life being taught by example of many. One story would be the life of Noah who gathered animals two by two and his family to be asked to go onto a huge boat (ark) after building it. Moses is another story, one who was led into the wilderness to meet with God. The ten commandments would enter their lives and our lives. Back in the day, Jesus walked this earth and miracles would happen. They didn't have paper or pens like we do and the the story still unfolded. It unfolded into the beginning and the end.
Genesis 1 New Life Version
1 In the beginning God made from nothing the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was an empty waste and darkness was over the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was moving over the top of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good. He divided the light from the darkness. 5 Then God called the light day, and He called the darkness night. There was evening and there was morning, one day.
6 Then God said, “Let there be an open space between the waters. Let it divide waters from waters.” 7 God made the open space, and divided the waters under the open space from the waters above the open space. And it was so. 8 Then God called the open space Heaven. There was evening and there was morning, the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered into one place. Let the dry land be seen.” And it was so. 10 Then God called the dry land Earth. He called the gathering of the waters Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let plants grow from the earth, plants that have seeds. Let fruit trees grow on the earth that bring their kind of fruit with their own seeds.” And it was so. 12 Plants grew out of the earth, giving their own kind of seeds. Trees grew with their fruit, and their kind of seeds. And God saw that it was good. 13 There was evening and there was morning, the third day.
OLD SCHOOL ~
Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3
Each day being just as important as another one. God created new things as he saw things needed to be added to life. One day happen when he thought of you and created you to do something. God has given us freedom of mind and it's up to us to handle that freedom with care. Never let anyone tell you that you are not important because you are. You were created for this very day and this very moment in time. It's not about old school, but about school. It's about doing and acting the word of God out in your life. Your life is connected with another life and that brings hope.
IT IS NOT SECRET WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!
It is written on pages of a one book called, "BIBLE".
Open your Bible and read stories of hope. Read victories of lives and the promises that God has made us each of us. FREEDOM of mind and so much more. Don't let the enemy rob you of one more day. It's a new day and full of grace/mercy. Go today and live in Happy. Moving forward doesn't mean things will be perfect, but it will get better. There is nothing old school about the Bible, it's new and refreshing everyday of life.
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends!
