John 14:1-4 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Comforts His Disciples
14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
NO FEAR ~
LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED
Jesus comforts his disciples because he knew he must go away. Living today we know that Jesus came and went to Heaven for each of us. The Bible speaks of his story and how people carried on after he left. Just like you and me today, we carry on each day and we have a choice to believe in Jesus or not. To live according to the Bible or not. To do our best daily or not. It's the or not part of life that can sway us into a wrong thinking pattern. If you believe things will always go wrong, maybe they will. I remember being a kid and my mom believed that something bad was always going to happen. So many bad things happen when I was growing up, but nobody talks bout the positive things. We had many positive things too.
I am a person who believes in Jesus and to bring out the best in each day. That doesn't mean that bad things won't happen, I've just learned to deal with things in a different way. I put my confidence in who I believe in (GOD) and I know that my journey of the past matters too. I was talking with a friend who was crying. She needed guidance and I didn't have a clue. All of a sudden, she came to my mind and I called her. I told her what the Lord has placed on my heart and she began to cry. She knew it was a God moment and he heard her prayer. We don't always need to know everything about someone, just be there for them. If you feel a tug to call someone, make it happen.
Jesus knows everything about each of us. His story is told on Easter and throughout history. I don't know what you are facing today, but you don't have to face it alone. God has purposed you to read this and to plant hope today. Things change and we learn from mistakes to press forward. Accidents happen in our lives and we thank God for doctors, nurses and emergency people to help us. We can carry a smile of victory or a frown of sorrow. I've seen a lot in my life time and I'm sure I will see more. Learning to trust God through it all and making a difference daily.
Life is short and it's important to live in today. Make today special and look at all the things you already have in life. There are so many good things and time to thank God for them. Let me pray:
God, it's a new day and I thank you for it. I don't know what the readers of my blog face today, but you do. I ask largely for their needs to be met and even more. I realize that some need money, food, house, car, encouragement, wisdom, health and so much more. God you still do miracles and I ask that others see miracles in their lives. Help us to live according to your word and to be an example to others. AMEN
Jesus did not want his disciples to be troubled and neither does he want you to be troubled. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Purpose Jesus first and walk in his ways. Learn the Bible and when hard things hit, scriptures of hope pop up in your mind. Cast off the things you can not change and change the things you can!
