Psalm 100 New Living Translation (NLT)
A psalm of thanksgiving.
Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Drawing near to God means change will come. God has a way of showing us things through all seasons of life, if you allow him too. You have a free will and choice in each decision you make. Make sure you make great decisions. Let us look at the fact that the Lord is good, his love is unfailing forever. Not only does it says forever, but his faithfulness continues to each generations. Powerful words and actions through out with a promise that's huge. Unfailing love forever ~ forever ~ forever!
Being near to God, means what to you? Think about it for a minute, if you want to draw near to someone, you must spend time with them. Getting to know them and sharing real life together. It takes time and a process of change. We begin to trust someone and that's the same way with God. We learn to lean to God and not to our own understanding things.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
What brings us change in our lives? If we keep doing the same old thing, we will get the same old results. Change is not always easy but necessary. It can be compared to looking at a glass half fun or half empty. The statement makes you think and the outcome is how you view it. Positive that you have more or negative for less than full.
NEAR TO GOD ~
I think about life in my 30's and I realize how much different I am 30 years later. I am about to turn 62 years old and I don't feel old. I feel as I draw near to God, I find true rest and happiness in life. The things I have now are far greater than the past. It takes a made up mind serving God, to rest in him.
Romans 12:1-2 New Living Translation (NLT)
A Living Sacrifice to God
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
GOOD ~ PLEASING and PERFECT:
You will learn to know God's will for you. I like how it says that you will learn, because God knew it would take time. God transforms our minds and we continue to learn daily. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
