THE BIBLE ~ Matthew 6:21
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Wise words that carry throughout our lives. Our heart hold valuable lessons, victories, sadness and so much more. When we think of what is important to us, it's usually where we spend out time. Looking around to see the value in lives we care about and sharing hope on a daily bases. Throughout the word of God (Bible), we find lessons and treasures.
Let me open up my heart right now and share this. My life consist waking up daily to write you. Yes, you the readers of my blog. I sit down and find the words that I feel to say in this new day. Sharing some hope, some stories and scriptures inside the Bible. Caring and praying for each of you on a daily bases. I don't know who reads this or how it affects you, but I believe it does in someway. My life is connected to you and the treasures of life. The balance of being a wife, mom, grammie, and a friend. A leader and teacher of the word of God. I am not a scholar or get every word right on my blog, but I do give from the middle of my heart and that's is where love rest.
I feel the love of God and his presence. I know this scripture to be true:
1 John 4:4 New International Version (NIV)
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
When I gave my heart to God, I began to learn to surrender my will, to his will. My choices matters and here we go. After all, our heart is what pumps the blood and keeps us alive with God's help. Today, let us give thanks for our heart and press forward. God makes promises and they will come to pass. It becomes time to delight ourselves in a greater depth in God.
Psalm 37:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Be careful in where you spend your time. There must be a balance of all things. Finding time for God's word is important. That is one way we learn and grow closer to him. Also, finding time for prayer. I was listening to someone who wondered when they had prayed last. I can honestly say, I pray every morning. I purpose time to get up early to write and pray. Then throughout the day when other's might text me or call me. I stop right then and pray. When I was younger, I would tell someone, yes I will pray and then forget to pray. That's why I stop now and pray.
What is something you treasure?
When I was in my 30's, I treasured my house, my car, my dog and so many material things. Then we lost our house, our car was stolen and our dog ran away. I put my treasures thoughts toward being angry and mad. My brother died at 37 with cancer on Christmas Day. My heart was filled with hurt and anger. Then after time, I began to see the importance of one life. The need I had to treasure my family and friends. I need became stronger to treasure God and his word. There is a season for all things and now I must lean not to my own understanding. Life chances for each of us. Our attitude and outlook matters on how we view things.
I treasure that God can all my mess ups in life and change me. My thoughts began to change and the desire to step out in faith again. I did that and continue to do that daily. It's a lifestyle change but a daily walk with God. He knows exactly what each of us need in this life. Our decisions matter. Let us treasure what is right and important. After all, one day things will be gone. Family will move to heaven along with friends. What we do today matters far more than you might realize. Show love, kindness and faith to someone today. You never know who might just need a smile!
