WHO AM I ?
I question that, when I did not hold a title anymore!
1 Corinthians 3:7-11 (NIV)
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
MY TITLE IS GONE ~
It took time for me to realize that my life wasn't about a title. My husband was an Associate Pastor for years. Also held the title of Youth Pastor and sectional Youth Leader. That meant that I was the wife of a Pastor but when that position was over, so was the title. I found myself saying I used to be an Associate Pastor's wife. I used to be..... started to consume my mind. Who was I and where do we fit now in church? The church we attended at the time, when the main Pastor left the church, our position was over. Making it hard to fit into a new leadership role when the new pastor choose his own associate and that wasn't you.
Over the years, I would learned that we are co-workers or leaders of many. Our example continues to matter even if you don't hold a title. Jesus already laid the foundation of life and we are created to lead others. We are called the temple of God for a reason. To hold his truth and we are connected for a much larger purpose.
1 Corinthians 3:16-23 (NIV)
16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
WHO AM I ?
A person who follows Jesus and does my best daily to live what I teach. I write from the middle of my heart and I promise I pray for the readers of my blog. I have found that a title doesn't define me anymore. I am who I am in God and I love how he has brought me strong storms of life to write about it. I love to help others and thankful for another day of life.
We never know what one days holds, but we do know it holds the truth of God (Bible). A living sacrifice for each of us on a journey far beyond the sky. Let your example show and do your best daily to become a better person. Each of us can work on ourselves and become better. I do hold the title of God using my life and I try hard daily to do my best. I don't have super powers, but I do have a super God. Letting go of what I can not change and changing the things I can. It all begins in me and I'm off to share hope in a new day.
If you have lost a title or feel lost inside, please know that God has not left you. Maybe you don't hold that title anymore, but you do hold a plan of God that is real for your life. I know sometimes it is extremely hard to loose a title. It doesn't change you are you and remember that. The process of change is hard at times and even loosing a title hurts. Grab onto your continue title of being human and doing your best daily. Remember, God does renew things and restores lives. He also brings us friends who care and a new beginning is often necessary. I personally found loosing a title, helped me gain who I was in God. Each situation is different but God remains the same.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
