1 Corinthians 16:13-14 New International Version (NIV)
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love.
MY THOUGHTS ~
Life is so short and material things can vanish in a few moments.
I held back tears as we walked around the property. I could hear Tracy and Sean speaking of things they lost, but I also heard things they still have. The garage was detached from the house and there was somethings inside of it. I stood looking at the play structure and I made myself smile. I know it's gone but I also know that next year, there will be a bright new one. Until then, daily it is a process of change and living somewhere else for them.
I don't know what you face today but somethings are just hard to process. I spoke to someone who knows a mom and dad who lost their home, plus their son lost his home. Looking at the news from Santa Rosa, you can see blocks and blocks of house gone. Not just houses gone, but lives changed. Each one having their own story and their own loss. Let us remember today to pray for those who are hurting. New beginnings happen, but we never know quite what those new beginnings consist of in life.
Isaiah 43:19 New International Version (NIV)19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
PRAYER WORKS ~
Can I see God in the fire? Can I see that God is doing a new thing? I can see anything in the wilderness of heartbreak? The questions may go on, but the answer is yes for me. I can see that God had my son in law need to go to the bathroom and he saw out the window there was a fire! A friend messaged my daughter at the time of Sean in the bathroom asking was the fire close to them? Messages to get out of their house. The winds were 60 plus miles per hour. They saw the fire as they headed down the mountain. A forever memory in their minds. It seemed like a horrible nightmare and hoping their house would survive the fire storm, but it didn't.
Maybe you can't see the miracle of a storm in your life, but I could look back and see how God works. God works through it all and I had someone ask me the question, then why didn't God save their house? Why didn't God stop the fire sooner? I can't answer whys of things, but I know that God protects and helps us through all situations of life. Either you believe God is God or you don't. Trusting him through it all have proven to show me miracles of life. Hearing a negative doctor's report that suddenly turns to victory. Hearing a negative doctor's report and the end turns to heaven for my brother on christmas morning. Through it all, I've learned to trust in God.
Sometimes in life, we must call up the strong inside of us:
Deuteronomy 31:6 New International Version (NIV)
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
My thoughts and prayers are with the readers of my blog, your family and friends. Purpose this the best day you can.
