Matthew 11:28-30 New International Version (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
TIME OUT ~
Listen to scripture and be a doer of that. I heard something last night that made my soul restless. I put myself in time out to listen to to pray and connect with God. I find that sometimes I just need to spend a little more time with Jesus.
I NEED A TIME OUT ~
Connecting with Jesus brings your thoughts to a new level
I do not always understand the plan of God. I find myself in a place of wonder and I must bring myself out of that place quickly. Many years ago, I would lay awake wondering and trying to figure things out in life. It didn't help one thing other than making me tired, weary and I didn't take care of myself. Putting my mind to living Romans 12:1-2 has helped me more than I can tell you.
RENEW YOUR MIND ~
Romans 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
A Living Sacrifice
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
What is a living sacrifice anyway? I think of it as not thinking upon things I can not change but learning how to deal with it. A new normal in the eyes of God and allowing myself to press forward. It is a form of worship the Bible says and I believe that. My body is used by words that lay inside of me and allowing my own life to become better. It takes time, lots of time to change an old pattern of thinking, but each day it becomes easier to develop a Christ like attitude.
God doesn't want us to be like the world, but like him. Living a life of freedom and kindness. Living a life of making mistakes but knowing the way out. Life can be like a dark tunnel of the past, but seeing the light in front of us. Jesus died for our sins and Heaven is a real place. Think of it this way too, if you love someone so much you totally want to give your best to them. For me, it is teaching, leading and doing my best, but I am human and I do make mistakes.
Over the years of life, I have learned to forgive myself and treat myself a little kinder than yesterdays of life. We can not live in the land of regret or disappointments to hold on. We must live by sacrifices our own lives to renew our minds daily. Actually, sometimes I renew my mind more than once a day. Life is full of changes and all those changes can change us. Let us not walk by sight but by faith. Maybe this ugly thing in life was meant to destroy us, but by living a sacrifice unto God, it can grow us. It doesn't only grows us but daily we have choices to become better.
I speak of change a lot because my life does change a lot. I've went from a young girls wanting friends into having so many friends now. I know that God has created my life for more than I might think. It's not just a blog to write, but a daily lifestyle of living for God. I know that prayer works and I know that keeping your mind solid upon God works. I know that being human happens and my thoughts drift far away only to come back again. It's a battle at times and it's a real life story of hope. I have seen the power of God move in miracles and I have had tears that brought me to my knees.
Each day of life is an opportunity of millions of thoughts. Keep those thoughts in the right direction. Move closer to God in this day. Sure there will be things you don't understand and that happens. There is also the door of a miracle just waiting to happen. Change comes by moving forward and not backing up. Keep doing what is right and keep your minds under control. If it tries to wonder, bring it back and keep it in alignment with God.
