13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My first granddaughter was born April 3, 2009. She turns 10 years old today and so excited to be ten. The joy that filled my soul that day knowing her mother (Ashley) was going to be fine and Brookley too. Ashley had a rough delivery and we were all scared. We began to pray and Ashley plus Brookley are a true miracle of God in their lives. Ten years later, we remember and thank God for life.
Jeremiah 1:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
MY FIRST GRANDCHILD ~
God has a plan for Brookley's life
I enjoy listening to Brookley tell me what she wants to be in life. As of right now, she wants to work for NASA. As she goes to school, she tells me what she has learned at times. She listens closely and wants to do her best in everything. I'm so proud of her.
Knowing the word of God, opens my mind to hope in all things. I see how God took time to form the earth and each of us. Just like Jeremiah in the Bible, God appointed him to be a prophet to the nations. In verse 11, God speaks of a plan, a promise and a future. It doesn't hold true for just Jeremiah, but for each of us. God has designed us as individual and made us unique.
I have learned things from the youngest of people and the oldest of people. I see how time moves quickly by us. It seems like today that Ashley had Brookley, but the calendar says ten years. In those ten years, I've watched Brookley grow into this amazing person. She loves to go to church and sing for the Lord. I can see parts of her mommy and daddy in her. I can also see how Jesus came into her heart and her kindness shows to others. I see how time changes things around us and how important each of our examples are to others.
GOD HAS A PLAN ~
He places people in our lives for purpose
Sometimes in our losses of things or people, we find ourselves with new normals. The big question of why and the wonder of it all can begin. Life changes and only God can know the depth of our hearts. Brookley's parents got a divorce years ago and both remarried. Married to wonderful people (Ashely and Chris) who truly care and love Brookley. I see that and I'm happy for all of them. Brookley also has other grandparents and great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. Today, everybody celebrates Brookley and her 10th birthday. We also celebrate Ashley. I know what God did on this day ten years ago and I will forever be so grateful. Gifts from God for sure.
ONE LIFE ~
HAS A PURPOSE
Let us not forget each other today. Your life matters and someone is watching you. We need each other in life. Behind the scenes of life are people who pray and continue to be there for us. Life changes and we all deal with things. Let us not forget the giver of life ~ GOD.
I think back about my husband today. It was the Jesus in him that I saw and he was different. His kindness was amazing and he also spoke of hope. I remember my 18 year old self today and I was so broken in life. God had a way to restore me and give me a marriage for over 40 years now. I can look back to see the goodness of God and how my choices affected my future. Had I not said yes to Terry, I would have the two beautiful children I have, plus grandchildren. I am a bless Grammie and I see that everyday of my life. Had I not said yes to God, I wouldn't be who I am today in him. All of my days have came to this one: Happy Birthday Brookley Faith ~ I LOVE YOU
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Stop for a moment and give thanks for your life. You make a difference and never doubt that. Prayer works and I've seen miracles. Purpose this a good day!
