One year since the Napa Fires. Yesterday was weird weather and so windy. A suddenly reminder of last year's wind when the fires began. My daughter and her family lost their house in the fires. I remember when they came to my house and hoped the fires didn't take their house. Sad enough, they would find out that the fires did consume their house. Life would press forward and they would moved into a rental house with the need to buy everything. I remember my son in law say something like this, "what do I need, I need a toothbrush to start". So many friends started giving them gift cards and prayers for their new beginning. Something their family never wanted to happen but did. So much like so many others who felt their pain that fire storm brought. My daughter and her family are still waiting on the start of the rebuild of their house. Things take time and thoughts keep moving.
Something new is brought out of scars.
Isaiah 66:9 New Century Version (NCV)
In the same way I will not cause pain
without allowing something new to be born,” says the Lord.
“If I cause you the pain,
I will not stop you from giving birth to your new nation,” says your God.
MOVING MY THOUGHTS ~
Positive thoughts are good to keep alive inside of you. We are often know by our character and others seeing us from the outside. God is the only one who can see us from the inside. He created us and purpose our lives. We do wonder why certain things happen in life and I don't have that answer. I only know I trust God with all my heart and I know that a new day brings a better day. God's promises are true and amen.
Moving into new beginnings ~
This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)
How about you today? What do you need to move on from in life and allow God to restore your heart? Broken spots of a child or adult can last a life time. Getting through them is one thing, but leaving them in the past is often harder. God wants us to live in a new day and count blessings of what he has already done. Moving in real life isn't always fun. It involves packing, cleaning, travel and a new beginning. We often have people help us in this physical move. Let's put that into a spiritual move now. We do need others to help us and others need us. It's called friendship and people who stick by us through our storms of life. I can't even begin to name all the people who helped me move from place to place in my brokenness of life. As a child to an adult, I have many people who inspire me to press on in life. Don't get stuck on what isn't happening today, but what is happening.
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STENGTH ~
Find some music that fills your soul with peace. Read a good book or open the Bible to find scriptures of hope. I often tell myself to do this, "SHAKE IT OFF". You can dwell on this or you can dwell on the things God is doing. My prayers continue daily for the readers of my blog, your family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to read this, plant hope and keep joy alive. It's ok to mourn people and things of life that hurt, but it's ok to move on to find the joy again.
