Matthew 8:23-27 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calms the Storm
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
Matthew 9:27-31 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Heals the Blind and the Mute
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied.
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” 31 But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.
We can read about miracles in the Bible and we can know that same God can give us miracles. Nothing is too big for God and yet somethings seem impossible. Sharing a few miracles from my life and seeing how God helped me through hard things.
1980's my daughter fell (2 years old) and cut her forehead deep, too many stitches to count, but no lasting issues.
1980's my husband fell over 40 feet and lived. Broken leg and crack ribs but he lived.
1980's my son got a doctor's report of living only a few more days, but a true miracle happened.
God meets us exactly where we are in life. Things happen to each of us in different ways. We might not see the miracle that sets before us or even have the patience to wait on our miracles. God's word is true and he can change a life in a moments time. I wanted to point out three miracles in the 1980's and I can look back on how God answered. Yet, so much stress was involved then. I was in my early 30's and life changes were hard. I can now look to see how the outcome of those situations molded me into a strong woman of faith. It took faith to press forward. Not everything turns out the way we think, we it might. I wondered why God even allowed the accidents to happen, but they are called accidents for a reasons. We have doctors, nurses, 911 emergency people and the list goes on to help us.
God helps in everyday life. God helps with the doctor's report is not great. God helps us to turn our thoughts to him and believe BIG in miracles. I don't know what you face, but face it knowing God is able to handle your emotions, actions, outcomes and your today just fine. My prayers continue for each of you, your family and friends. Purpose this a good day and hold on.
