The Year of the Lord’s Favor
ISAIAH 61:1-3 (NIV)
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion--
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
Short story of my daughter and how I spoke on how God did a miracle through the hardest thing of life.
My daughter got married and lost a baby the next year. The following year, their family house burned down in the Napa fires. The next year, she had a baby girl and five days later, suffered a brain bleed. I will never forget how God gave my daughter a miracle. The complete healing was in the process of time. She grew stronger daily but a slow healing. The following year a miracle of going to Disneyland for her daughter's first birthday! Can you see how a short paragraph just went through several years of hard, but so much beauty from the ashes of hard times. Disneyland was amazing and I could see the joy on my daughter's face, as she saw Disneyland with her daughter for the first time. Her daughter is now two years old and we celebrated it as they have moved into their new home after the fire. I give praise to God everyday for my daughter's life and my family.
MIRACLE IN TIME ~
God's timing is perfect
It is now 2020 and we are living in a pandemic time of life. Shelter in place is happening in California and wild fires continue to spread. Once again, my daughter and her family were told they had to evacuate their new house and a week went has gone by. Yesterday, they were able to move back in and the house is fine. Giving God praise for keeping them safe from the fires. Prayers continue for firefighters and people who are still evacuated from their houses. Also, praying for those who lost homes in the 2020 fires.
It's important not to focus on the hard, but to take one day at a time in life. It's important if you know someone going through a hard time, contact them. A text message, Facebook, or call. Never use the statement of this, "I didn't want to bother you". Never use the statement of this, "I didn't know what to say". I can personally tell you, I wish people had text message me or called during some hard times of life. It is good to stay connected to people who are important to you and those who just come to your mind. Reach out and say Hi today. Even if someone does not text you back, you can still do your part.
SAYING YES TO GOD IN HARD TIMES ~
I spoke at this women's event and heard many great words after it was over. I saw how my yes made a difference to so many women. Just hearing what someone goes through and stands strong in faith, helps someone else. Yet, there was certainly times when I needed a friend to text me or call me. It is good to be real to others and let people into your hard times. I will forever thank God for turning hard times into blessings. Somethings don't have a suddenly, but turns out great in the process of time. Hold tight to God, his word and promises. God never leaves us or forsakes us. God continues to do miracles and we continue to change. Purpose that change into a better person. Count blessings of life daily.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
