The Bible speaks to spur one another on toward love and deeds. It is great to be around a positive person. Sometimes we just needed a extra dose of kindness in our lives. Taking a break from negative thoughts or just the pressure of a day. We often need that mental health day or mental health moments in life. Turning our thoughts to God and allowing him freedom to help us.
Hebrews 10:24-25 New International Version (NIV)
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
MENTAL HEALTH ~
I heard that some people think that mental health means your crazy. It's not about being crazy but about your emotions and taking care of you. Have you ever just wished you could do a day over? I have and it's not possible to do a day over my friends. I remember watching the movie "Ground Hog Day". The man kept waking up to the same old thing and yet each day he had an opportunity to do something different. Each of the different things he did day after day, changed the outcome. If we could just stop and think before we react life would be better.
My daughter (Tracy) has ten years experience in dealing with children's and family mental health. I've learned from her the important of teaching kids right thoughts and helping them overcome hardships in their lives. It took her years in College and Degrees to help others. I've listened to her about my own life and I've changed to the better over time. Part of who I am is because she spent timing talking to me. Many years ago, I was just crushed by people and their words. Life has a way of pushing us back and heartbreak happens. Life does have ups and downs. I needed a mental health day from myself and had to turn my own thoughts around.
We need that person in our lives who encourages us and spurs us on like a cheerleader. Just a simple sentence like this, "YOU CAN DO IT". Moments in life can change us and we need to make sure we stay connected to God. The enemy (Devil) wants to divide lives and divide us from God. I've seen a lot over my lifetime and wished I had done things different. I often wonder if I had done things different, would I be who I am today? If that answer is no, then I don't want to do anything different.
1 Peter 5:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
In my writings to you, I try to share a part of me that is hard to share. My mind can drift from a happy place to a sad place so quickly. I must purpose my thoughts back to God and know that he has done so many good things for me to doubt his power. I see things I wish I could change and I can't. Only God can do certain things and there comes a time to just trust God. Sometimes it is best to take a mental health day away from Facebook. We see pictures of others lives and wish we were them. Yet, we don't know their story about the happy picture or being the scenes of someone's life.
I've come a long way in life. I've lost a house, a car, a brother and a dog all in one year. I've cried the ugly cry until no more tears seem to come. I lost my hope in God and my frustrations turned to anger. I was 32 years old and I'm sitting here today telling you that God put people in my life to help me. I feel like telling you not to shut people out. We need each other and we need to spur one another on. Life can be hard and it can be great. Mixed together we can find friendships and connections that are so important. Our mental health is extremely important! Hope is alive and ready to enter our lives daily. Don't forget that Jesus loves you and new beginnings happen for a reason. Daily we have another chance at life and let's purpose this a good day no matter what we face. We can do this together and know that God has connects these words to help not only myself but you.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
