A day to focus on lives that continue to make a difference in our world. Men and Women who served our country and gone way too soon from our lives. Let us remember to pray daily for families and friends who deal with loss on a daily bases. It's also a day that brings us together and remember the heroes of our lives.
THE BIBLE SAYS:
John 14 New Life Version
Jesus Comforts His Followers
14 “Do not let your heart be troubled. You have put your trust in God, put your trust in Me also. 2 There are many rooms in My Father’s house. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going away to make a place for you. 3 After I go and make a place for you, I will come back and take you with Me. Then you may be where I am. 4 You know where I am going and you know how to get there.”
5 Thomas said to Jesus, “Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way to get there?” 6 Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by Me. 7 If you had known Me, you would know My Father also. From now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
The Bible says to LET NOT your heart be troubled, but that's little hard when your heart is broken. Yet, we must put our trust in God and lean not to our own understanding. I remember clearing the day my dad went to Heaven. He had served in the military years before he went to Heaven. He spoke of how hard World War II and a little of what he had seen. As I got older, I know he spared me many bad details of that time of life. Then I spoke to a man who served in World War II also and he didn't spare me some detail. Wow, I can't even imagine what our military men and women really see in their lives. It brings me to a thankful heart and prayers.
Jesus went away to prepared a place for each of us. Heaven is a real place and I'm sure our loved ones are no longer in pain and in total freedom now. There still is a empty place at our tables and in our hearts. We can fill that space with love from God and knowing that he cares enough to place others i our lives. Our lives does not have to be walked out alone or deep sorrow, but a place of balance and learning to breathe in a new way. My heart goes out to families today and every day when the pain is just too much to bare. Hoping others can turn their pain into strength that only God can give us.
My heart also goes out every day to my niece Amy Snyder and Family. Sean served our country proud and now he rest in Heaven. He was way too young and missed greatly. His legacy continues on through family and friends. Amy is a great mom who knows the importance of moving forward and making a new normal for the kids. She has a great example of a mom as well. My sister in law (Tamara) has known loss in many ways and she continues a Jesus attitude in all she does. She is human, but a human you would want to know. Family sticks together and listens in the silence of heart felt pain. God, I would ask today that your strength Amy, Kids, Family and friends as Sean is missed greater than words today.
Let this not be a day of remembrance and giving thanks for those gone before us. God, we rest in you and ask for your strength this day and everyday. Thank you for men and women who served our country and those who continue to serve our country. We will choose to count blessings today! We know that you are the truth and the way. Teach us to rest in your plan and help us to breathe when it gets a hard. Amen
