Mark 4:35-41 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calms the Storm
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
TEACHER YOU DON'T CARE IF WE DROWN?
Of course Jesus did and he spoke to the wind plus the waves.
I'm thinking about situations in my life and my need to trust God in the beginning of change. There is power in the name of Jesus. Someone asked me this, "why then when things go wrong do I get scared?" There is something about when things suddenly happens, it takes us off guard. Our thought pattern needs to change to knowing God has this. It is the human side of us that runs our emotions at times. The big what's next happen and we must deal with hard stuff at times. We must bring our thoughts back to Jesus has this.
Jesus calms the waters and the wind, he can calm your situation too.
Whatever you are facing that seems crazy, give it to Jesus. When you think the worse, Jesus wants you to think the best. There is a greater day in today and his plan continues to unfold. Remember Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, A promise and A future. Each day we can learn from things. We might not know what happens next, but we know to trust the Lord.
I remember when I was living in Pinole Ca and my gas peddle stuck on my car. It came out of my garage and I was heading for a tree. I shouted out, "JESUS" and the car stopped right before I hit the tree. There is something about the name of Jesus that has power. I was so scared and when I got out of the car, I had to call the police. He was one of my friends and he asked me how I stopped the car. I told him I didn't because the brakes wouldn't work either. I just called on Jesus. He looked at me strange and I said, it's the truth. I can't explain it other than that because that's why happen. I was glad my kids were not in the car with me. Things suddenly happen and let us remember that Jesus is always with us.
Colossians 1:17 New International Version (NIV)
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
When you call upon the name of Jesus, life changes. Let us surrender our will to his will and watch how things change. Thinking upon greater things is a positive move while living in today. Don't miss out on blessings that God has for you. Living in kindness sure helps for a peace of mind.
My prayer continue for you, your family and friends.
