If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

FAMILY IS ~
Different personalities, different opinions and different ways of showing love
As I grow older, I see things so differently than I did when I was young. We were a family of four (Dad, Mom, Brother and Me). My mom was the last of 14 kids, but I only knew one of her sisters. My family moved from Missouri when I was 6 weeks old and leaving behind lots of family. In our new city in California, I had one aunt Pearl. Living in a small world of family and then one by one, my family started to leave earth. I was 18 when my dad died suddenly, 32 when my only sibling died and my mom died when I was in my 50's.
I have a family of four, but then my kids got married. That opened the door to a daughter in law and son in law. My son has two girls and expecting one more girl in December. My daughter has one little girl and three step sons. Then there is extended family to all of them. Let me also mention, when I got married my husband has 4 brothers and 2 sisters. So the family is really extended now. I have also been in touch with one of my cousin's in Missouri. Family is what we make it at times too. I have some friends who are more than friends. They are family to me and my family. God has connected us and that connect is important too. Showing love through our lives is important too.
I realize that some family carry hurts, disappointments and feeling of done happen. Yet, look around and see the people God has put in your lives that is family. The family of God is within your heart and opens our minds to see the blessings of life. Love is given by God and love is shared by us. Purpose this a good day and reach out to someone who might be alone today. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
