For we live by faith, not by sight.
Over my lifetime, there are moments when I needed my faith to reach further than sight. I just couldn't see how God was going to put things back to normal. In 1985, my husband (Terry) fell from a construction site over 40 feet and I was told he had a small accident. When in reality, he had a broken knee cap, cracked ribs and his shirt was torn in a million pieces. His hard hat cut his head. A crane hit the steel column he was inside of and knock it to the ground. The hospital send him home with a broken leg but didn't take an x-ray. The next day we went to Terry's doctor and found out he needed surgery. We did find a doctor who removed a forth of his knee cap. It took about a year to recover from his knee and hurt body to heal.
At first, I couldn't see how life could ever get back to a normal again. It change our income for money and learning to live on so much less. God was there all the time and helped us through a hard time of life. I learned that I couldn't look to far ahead in life and live in the moment I was in. Asking God for help everyday and learning so much about life.
2 Timothy 2:13 English Standard Version (ESV)
If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.

Stir up your faith
Live would move forward from my husband's accident, then our son (Chad) would come down with a muscle disease at the age of two. He started breaking out with a rash but everywhere his body had a joint, it was swelling up. I had no idea what it was and the doctor did some blood work. It turns out to be a disease that was closing off his joints. The doctor gave him about three days to live. He said the disease would cut off his windpipe eventually. I began to call people to pray and seek God on my son's health. I was in my early 30's and very scared. I held onto faith and chose to believe in a miracle. People would call me and say they were praying. On the third day, we noticed a change. The swelling started going down and his color of skin was looking so much better. I took him into the doctor and he was shocked. He began to tear up and said to me that he didn't believe in God, but now he does. He called his nurse into the office too. God had done a miracle for my son. Keep in mind, this happened not long after my husband had his accident. Once again, learning to live by faith and trusting God.

I felt to share these two experiences of life. Before these two things, my daughter (Tracy) in 1982 tripped on a rug. A coffee table sitting in front of my mom's couch, split her head open above her eye brow. The emergency doctor called in a specialist. I was also pregnant with my son. I asked the doctor how many stitches and he said, "I stitched her head for 45 minutes, I had no way of knowing that answer". He had to stitch deep inside and then close it up. He said, in twenty years, if I did a great job then you won't see the scar. It will go into her eye brow. He made it known that he would be dead by the time she was 20 years old. Well, he did a great job and you can't hardly see the scar. I was about 27 years old and knew to pray. Prayer changes you and that changes the outlook at things. I chose to call on God and others to pray for my daughter.
I am a woman who has learned to walk by faith and not site. In all these three examples of my family, I cried, I was scared and I wondered why it happened. Yet, God was faithful then and continues to be faithful today. I hope my stories has stirred up faith for you too. Miracles happen and please don't give up believing in miracles. It's not always the why we need to know, but to know God is at work. He is in the process of change and the hope of this moment. He is faithful forever.
