Psalm 39:4-5 New Century Version (NCV)
4 “Lord, tell me when the end will come
and how long I will live.
Let me know how long I have.
5 You have given me only a short life;
my lifetime is like nothing to you.
Everyone’s life is only a breath.
LIFE IS SHORT ~
I volunteer at my granddaughters school and have become friends with teachers plus office staff. It's important to me to be a good example to my grandchildren but also to other kids plus adults. I had a little kid tell me how lucky Willow is because I help. I told her that I am not only here for Willow but for her, the other kids and teacher. She got a big smile on her face and said thank you to me. I will remember her expression that day.
As I get older, I value life even more. I want to share time with my family and friends. I take a lot of pictures and feel like I offend some people and have stopped taking their picture. My heart is one of good intentions and I learn daily in my life. I take selfies with others because I am usually the person taking the pictures and don't get in some pictures. I think it comes down to not having many pictures as a kid with my family. I wish I had more of my mom, dad and brother while they were on earth.
Things happen suddenly and our lives change. Some change is great while other change is extremely difficult to understand. I am attending funeral (Life Celebration) of a friend who died suddenly. She was sick but was getting better. She has teenage children and this breaks my heart. I understand the pain of being 18 years old and my dad died suddenly. We just never know what can happen in one day and should live it to the fullest.
There are things that hurt us in life and we lean to God for understanding. We might not always understand the play of God but his word speaks of a time to be born and a time to die. That time is only known by God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
LIFE IS SHORT ~
Are you upset with someone and need to make peace? Are you frustrated taking care of elderly parents, your job, your family, your husband or wife, your children, your life and the list goes on? Let go of frustrations and look beyond the moment of things. Life changes so quickly and we wish we had back moments in life. I remember being so frustrated driving two times a day to Napa from American Canyon to see my mom (30 minute trip). She was elderly and I just couldn't do things right. I never thought ahead that someday I might miss her so much that I wish I had back some moments. Yes, I'm being so real right now, I miss her like crazy and wish I could drive to Napa twice today. I'm sharing this because I don't know your frustration of life or if you even have one. Learn to live in this day and make the best of it.
Now I lean not to my own understanding but to God's plan. Jeremiah 29:11 speaks of a plan, a promise and a future. As my heart feels heavy today for my friends family and her friends, I know that she rest in Heaven and no longer in pain. Let's never stop living for ourselves and those around us. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. If you are in a good spot today, share hope with others. Be a light in a dark world no matter what circumstance is around you.
