A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
My choice is to dwell in the house of the Lord. I know that good and love will follow me all the days of my life too. The Bible speaks of one life, but also shares hope with each of us. I love Psalm 23 because it speaks life and hope. It's a Chapter for the living. God gives us time to find peace and rest in each day.
My life is built around change, much like your life. Each day is a new day and holds changes for all of us. I was asked last night, "Will you ever stop talking about it?". It is made of many things and the past can be an ugly place or a pleasant place for us. I didn't realize how much I spoke about one subject because I honestly thought I had forgotten about it. As long as I bring something up, I have not stop thinking about it. I hope that makes sense. It doesn't matter what your "it" is, it becomes time to stop talking bout what you can't change and change the things you can.
Even though we might walk through dark places, God speaks of fearing no evil and you will feel his comfort. You have a new day in front of you now and what you think about matters. I speak of renewing your mind daily, because it's important and also written in the Bible in Romans 12:1-2.
The enemy of our soul wants to stop us. The devil wants us to feel done, broken, a loser and the list goes on. God wants us to find peace and lay down in green pastures. A time of resting and just knowing that God has it. Again, whatever the "IT" is in your life, God knows about it and has it. Trusting is something hard to do if you have been betrayed in life. Just remember, that Jesus did not betray you, he actually gave his life for you.
Life is precious and humans don't always appreciate what they have because we tend to be busy wanting more. I am speaking this directly to myself right now. I have some prayers I need answered, I wanted them answer yesterday but somehow God's plan is still having me wait. For example, sometimes we wait for appointments to happen. It might be a doctor's appointment and we wait in a waiting room waiting for someone to call our name. Then they open a door and here we go. God has us waiting, because it just isn't our time yet. Then when he does call our name, the door is open and wow it's our turn.
Life is a gift and it ticks away like a clock. We are to cherish our moments in life and we can take precious moments to thank God for another day. A day set before us with new things, new challenges, new blessings and new hope. I am thankful that God loves me as I am and challenges me to press forward, to grow deeper in his word and live what I teach. I do my best daily and sometimes I feel I could do better. I"m human and I make mistakes. I say things word and I try to fix stuff. I am not the fixer of everybody's stuff, but I hope a light unto a new thought at times.
I enjoy sharing my life with you who read this. I thank you passing it onto your family/friends. My prayers continue for all of you. I value your time so I try to keep these messages short and full of hope. Purpose this day a good one.
