Psalm 119 New Century Version
The Word of God119
Happy are those who live pure lives,
who follow the Lord’s teachings.
2 Happy are those who keep his rules,
who try to obey him with their whole heart.
3 They don’t do what is wrong;
they follow his ways.
4 Lord, you gave your orders
to be obeyed completely.
5 I wish I were more loyal
in obeying your demands.
6 Then I would not be ashamed
when I study your commands.
7 When I learned that your laws are fair,
I praised you with an honest heart.
8 I will obey your demands,
so please don’t ever leave me.
You can continue reading the complete Chapter of Psalm 119. It goes on to tell more about happy. I have found that when I rest in God, my soul is at peace. Peace brings on the word happy to my mind. For example, you know that friend who you trust and can tell anything too in life? They honestly can keep a secret and never tells your business. Well, God is that kind of friend to me as well. I know that I've had ups and downs in believing his plan but I find that he gives free will which changes our path.
Yes, it's true about free will. God gives us choices and chances to get things right. He tell us to think upon things like this:
Philippians 4:8 New Century Version
8 Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.
When you think about what takes away your happy, then you realize you might think too much. You have been drawn away from the plan of God or feel sadness come upon your heart. Is it so hard to be happy for others who prosper with money? Can you see how hard they work or how hard they plan ahead? Sacrifices of life are not always seen by people. People in our past planned good and that opens doors for others. Leaving an inheritance when they leave earth and an open door for their children as well and family.
I heard a story of a lady who received an inheritance that she didn't even know was coming. A single mom who struggled through so much and yet God blessed her in her obedience to do the right thing. Other stories run through my head right now of good things which makes my heart happy for others. Then comes my own story. Story of my voice not being strong enough and not stepping up for what I knew to be right for our family. I wanted to buy a house and my husband was against it. I see now that it was the right thing to do and it's too late for that situation, but never too late to speak up.
It's a sad day when you feel your hands are tied and your voice is silent. It becomes a happy day when you know that you have the power to change your own life in some ways. Choices and decisions go a long way in life. I was talking with another person last night and found they blamed everyone but themselves about their life. I'm too sick, I'm too broke, I'm too sad and the list went on. I began to spread some cheer in the message of hope. Sure you can look at things that way, but that's not the way God intended you to live. You have choices and you have hope. You have happy that wants to enter your life and your view totally matters.
I'm not saying happy is always easy to be in life. Especially when you loose a job, a house, a car or lack of food. I've been in all those spots at the same time. I've been broken and not able to buy food and I've cried when no one knows it, but God. I stayed awake and ask God largely for HAPPY to enter my world. I wanted material things in life and I'm tired of the lack of a dollar at times. But I know I can either be sad or happy and I choose happy.
THE BIBLE ~ ME
Happy are those who live for God
I believe greater things are ahead for you and for me. I believe my own decisions directed my path and my today's decisions matter too. I believe in miracles and I know that God's plan for my life continues to be on track. Sometimes we must change our view of things and break a pattern of sadness to happy. I can look at Facebook sometimes and see how people are on vacations, hotels resting and having fun. I am honestly happy for them and suddenly my thoughts go to I wish I were them. Then STOP it comes into play. Let's be happy for them and someday you will be on vacation! Yeah, let's be happy for them. Our minds wonder and we have the power to bring them back to happy!
Praying now for the readers of my blog, your family and friends! Thank you for stopping by to read this an plant happy into your day! We can be totally happy when we rest in God and his plan.
OH HAPPY DAY TO YOU!
