We only needed one car, to take a ride together. A sunny day, the roof down and Beach Boy music playing. We had time to talk and share life together. Just enjoying the ride.
The time would come that we would sale cars and buy something different. We can recall those days of SUN and FUN. Taking our hearts to a good place and great memories. Even memories that made us laugh and missed those days.
LET US TAKE A RIDE ~
Our imaginations can take us place without leaving our house. Be careful!
Proverbs 4:23-27 New Century Version (NCV)
23 Be careful what you think,
because your thoughts run your life.
24 Don’t use your mouth to tell lies;
don’t ever say things that are not true.
25 Keep your eyes focused on what is right,
and look straight ahead to what is good.
26 Be careful what you do,
and always do what is right.
27 Don’t turn off the road of goodness;
keep away from evil paths.
LET US TAKE A RIDE ~ with God
Jump into the passenger seat of a car and listen to God. He has written words on the pages inside a book called the Bible. God is good all the time and all the time God is good! In taking this ride, I can look back to see how my choices affected my past. I can also look straight ahead and see the power behind one choice as well.
Looking above at verse 27 ~ Don't turn off the road of goodness; keep away from evil paths.
The Bible gives us warnings and directions. Just like driving a car and you see a caution sign that warns you of a winding road or something ahead. If we allow God to be the driver of our lives and we are the passenger, we become a team of looking out ahead. Just like when Darlene and I was driving in the car, I would watch for signs or street names. We were a team inside one car and yet she had the control to turn the car. God wants you to surrender your control and allow him freedom to help drive your life with truth.
As a kid, I remember pointing my finger and telling my mom, "he did it, not me". The he was my brother and he didn't actually do it, I did. I got him into trouble a lot and just didn't want to admit I made a bad choice. Today, I still can make a bad choice but I have so learned to guard my life and o my best daily. We must forget ourselves over our own choices and let it go to God. After all, he knows our hearts and forgiveness is available by the asking.
Life is too short to stay stuck on a dirt road. Roads that lead no where and you keep spinning your wheels trying to move forward. Stop and speak words of life to yourself. Just like the little train song of the engine that said, "I think I can, I think I can". He made it up that mountain and I can often see my life doing the same thing. Things that were hard and yet I did it. Take a few minutes to think about a hard time in your life and how God was there. Behind the scenes of life as people who pray for us and care about us.
The stop sign has changed to go now and it's ok to let something go in your life. Some people who bring you down or tries to stop you from the plan of God. Move into purpose and allow freedom of mind to enter. Your thoughts can carry you far away and God can bring you right back to now. Life is about today and living it in.
I thank you for taking the time to read this, plant hope inside your heart and take a drive on a beautiful day of purpose! My prayers continue for the readers of blog and your family/friends.
