THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS ~
A time to celebrate the birth of Jesus and excitement that Santa left gifts under the tree.

YEAR 1962 or 1963 ~
I remember being little and we had no tree.  The days were getting closer to Christmas and my mom and I went on a journey for tree lots that might have throw away trees.  My mom found two sad little trees that needed a home she said.  We took them home and she began to make one good tree.  She got her little saw and drill.  She began to make one good tree out of two trees.  It was put together with love and I knew that part.  I think I was about 6 or 7 but I'm not sure my age.  We would get a knock on the door and there they were, two firemen.  One with a box of food and the other with two toys.  One for me and one for my brother.  I don't remember the toy, but I sure remember the orange inside the box.  The celebration began and it felt like a real Christmas of caring.

CELEBRATION ~ Happy Birthday Eve JESUS

In the Christmas tree story of my life, I can see how my mom tried her best to create a good Christmas. Times do get hard and we do forget the Christmas times gone by. I am remember today a thankful little girl and a happy heart.  I don't know what you face today, but face it with Jesus. I didn't know Jesus as a little kid (6-7 age) or have that experience of his love.  I know Jesus now and I certainly can share it. Tomorrow is the day we celebrate his birth.

BIRTH OF JESUS ~ A SAVIOR

Luke 2:1-7  (NIV)
The Birth of Jesus In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

WOW ~ Happy Birthday Eve Jesus
As we prepare for tomorrow, many people gather together in homes and churches.  Santa is in the hearts of many children and the excitement builds. Kids try to sleep and know that when they wake up, gifts will be under the tree or will they?  Not everyone has money or love where they are at in life.  No big house, lots of presents under a tree but just maybe they have a home of love.  I see how love can move mountains in all seasons and how one gift is so important to a child and even an adult. Let us pray for each other because we never know what someone goes through in one day. It's time to know that hard days can change us into better people and not bitter. Jesus came for a reason and continues that example today if we allow him into our hearts.  Let's pray:

Prayer ~
God, as readers are reading my blog today, I hope they feel the peace that only you can give in all seasons of life.  A time of thanksgiviing for another Christmas Eve and love that flows from knowing that Jesus is real.  I agree with who reads this, that you will meet them at where they are in life.  A Christmas miracle is needed in lives and a happy heart.  Let us see the things we do have in life and continue to count blessings.  Help us not to be sad in moments that take us away and rest knowing you are working things out for us.  I pray for children who wake up sad. Maybe because they are not with their parents. Foster Care children, divorced families, single moms and dads, grandparents who miss seeing their children and grandchildren, mom and dad who don't see their adult children and the list can go on.  Broken homes, broken families and only you God can help. Heal children and adults who are sick and need a miracle of health.  Whatever the reader is facing, help them now. We call upon your miracle working power to help this Christmas Eve and thank you for another day of life.  AMEN
