We box things up for many different reasons. We write the word fragile on and are careful not to drop the box. It simply means that something can be broken inside the box.
I had boxed things up that I didn't remember what was inside the box. One box can hold many different things and memories. Opening that box meant that I found things that could be used. It became time to stop saving those special dishes, cups or whatever it might be in life. I can also use this example as a spiritual example. I have also boxed some dreams, hopes and desires up. I think I even put tape across it because I just felt like it was talking to long and old age is creeping upon me. Now my choice is to let God stir up that hope again or even it taped it inside.
SPIRITUAL BOX ~
Things we hold deep inside of us and it becomes time to let it be used. It becomes to take your deepest dream and let it be free in God. His timing is perfect and yes, dreams, desires and hopes do come true, IF we don't give up. There might be times when God asked us to give him us those boxed things in life. He knows how to handle us fragile and will be careful with our hearts.
I remember asking God to use my life. To tear the tape off the box and allow freedom to enter my life again. No more doubting his power or ability to handle things I can't. It's hard giving things to God at times when life just doesn't make sense to us. I remember reading a story in the Bible about a woman
who took what she had and used it on Jesus. One expensive perfume and used it. It was the fact that she gave all she had to show how much she cared about Jesus. Read what was written:
Matthew 26:6-13 New Living Translation
Jesus Anointed at Bethany
6 Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. 7 While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.
8 The disciples were indignant when they saw this. “What a waste!” they said. 9 “It could have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor.”
10 But Jesus, aware of this, replied, “Why criticize this woman for doing such a good thing to me? 11 You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.12 She has poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial. 13 I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.”
This woman did not box her willingness to share up. She gave her all and got the best thing she owned and that was perfume. What is that you have that Jesus wants to use? It your willingness to say yes to God and yes to a new day of opportunities to be used? Maybe it's not just one event, but one that leads to another.
We can also box up feelings, emotions and things done to us. It can be fragile as written on a box, but God knows. We can not seal that box and let bitterness stay inside our hearts. We must open it and deal with things today. No more time to push things away, but dealing with it. The box of freedom is in front of you. God's word, grace and mercy follow you all the days of your life. You have choices and now more decisions to make on this new day. Make great choices and give you all like the women in this chapter above.
My prayers continue for readers of my blog, family and friends! Purpose this a good day.
