Last DAY of 2017 ~

Wow another year is almost over.  We can think back about things of this year and see how it's been a year of mixed emotions.  Somethings are so great to remember and others not so great.  I have learned to live by Jeremiah 29:11 ~

Jeremiah 29:11  New International Version (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I can look back and count blessings from the storms of life.  For example, I went to bed and didn't hear my phone ring.  It was after the midnight hour when my daughter called.  The Napa fires had reached their area and they needed to get away.  Little did we know that their house would burn down and most of their things gone forever.  The question I would get asked, "what do they need".  Sean (Tracy's husband) said, "well we have what is on our backs, what do we need, everything".  Money to replace things immediately.  Most everything including tooth brush, socks, underwear and the daily needs of life. I put a post out on Facebook about their family and so many people responded with prayers, gift cards and money.  It makes you look at life different when you know someone who lost everything.  God kept them alive with only a short time before the fire would reach their house.  That alone is a huge miracle.  Thank you again to all my family, friends and people I don't even know who responded with help.

How do we begin again in life?  We get back up and we remember Jeremiah 29:11 A plan, a promise and a future.  No, we don't know what will come our way in life, but we know that God is able to keep us.  Keep us from wrong thinking, wrong actions and living in this day.  This is the day that Lord has made and it's our choice if we rejoice in it.  Come on friends and listen closely, God is able to keep us, but it's our own free will that can direct our path!

I want to challenge your to name five blessings right now of 2017.  We can always look back at what didn't happen in life, but life is so much better when we focus on the positive. Even in the hardest of times, we find God is right there.  Moments that changed me forever in 2017 and I'm able to keep peace within me. How about you today?  Moments in your life that changed you forever?

Living by faith and moving in freedom of mind.  Romans 12:1-2 speaks of renewing your mind.  To focus on what God has done for you.  My health has not been good for 3 weeks now. I got a eye virus with bright red eyes and then a cold.  My eyes continue to be watery and a cough that is crazy.  Yet, I still pray daily for God to take it away and doing everything I know to get well.  Health is a huge blessing in life.  Let us not take for granted good health.

THE LAST DAY OF 2017 ~
Reminds me of the begging of 2017. Little did I know that so much would change in one year. I found myself making promises of a new year and no I didn't complete them all.  I set myself up for things impossible I guess. Yet, I see how faithful God is to me and my family.  I don't take things for granted and I have learned to cherish moments in my life.  I don't want to miss out on anything and taking care of myself is important too.  Not just physically but spiritually. Spending time in the presence of God is important.

Psalm 37:4English Standard Version (ESV)Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

My prayers continue for this new year.  Value each day as if it were your last but plan for tomorrow. My wise brother taught me that as he had cancer.  A hard time in our lives but a young man who loved God.  He trust God and knew it was his time to enter Heaven, but I wouldn't believe that. I kept that miracle of hope going and I believe he just knew.  Don't put off things to tomorrow, but live in this day.

It's been a great year and God has blessed my family greatly! I choose to look at the positive in life and so glad you read my blog.  Happy end to one year and new beginnings of 2018 full of God's plan.
