Love in Action
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another.Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
If we could only treat others with kindness all the time!
Life moves forward and I see how people are so easily frustrated with others. Some are even frustrated with those you truly care about in life. Have you ever wondered how someone can be so nice to you one moment and the next moment frustration just builds? I have wondered this before and realize that we are humans and we each have different ways we handle things. I know I handle things much better now, than I did in my younger years. I never want anyone to hurt or be mistreated in life. Life is so short and I spent too much time thinking on things I could not change.
Sometimes it is impossible to live in peace with someone. Maybe their decision affects you and you have no control of it. That's when you must let it go and stop replaying somethings over in your mind. When you have done all you can do, then you must live in the peace that God can give you. I've been in hard places where people never change and I know I must keep doing the right thing.
If we could only treat others with kindness
The Bible gives us words to live by and our choice to live by it. I like that we are to be kind and treat others with respect. I know that doesn't always happens back to me. I've had harsh words and times of tears because of negative words. I must be confident in whom I am in God and how he has changed my life. Through it all, I have learned to trust God and always wanted to be kind. Sometimes we just go through hard things and become a better person because of it. Never doubt that kindness works! My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
