NOW SPIRITUALLY ~
Lets enter the spiritual part of our lives about running a race. Our lives need self-discipline in all areas of life. As we press forward in thoughts and action, we are moving one step at a time. Often light brings us to moment by moment but so worth it down the road. We do not always know the path God will lead us down, but being a positive example is one for sure. My granddaughters not only like to go to church but they like to help there. They like to teach others younger than them and Brookley does kids worship.
1 Corinthians 9:23-25 New International Version (NIV)
23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
The Need for Self-Discipline
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
STRICT TRAINING ~
The girls have been practicing this run for days and then months. Twice a week they exercise and run. Building their bodies and preparing for the 5k run. I know that spiritually, we prepare our lives for knowing how to run the race God has prepared for each of us. There will be times of learning, listening and knowing how to take the next step. It is going into strict training of your thoughts and actions. I see it so clearly today how my yesterdays of life has prepared me for my now. We go through things and they can either grow up into a better person or bitter person.
SELF-DISCIPLINE ~
Time to study, worship, give out, take in, connecting with others and the list goes on. We need each other in life. I have been at low points of life and needed a friend. I have been at high points of life and wanted my friends there too. I prayed that God would send me positive people in life and encouragers. All of us need a person or people who will encourage us to press on. To keep running the race of life with a positive outlook and kind words. Negative people only drain the energy out of us and it's difficult to spur them on. Yet, in some cases, we need to encourage those negative ones to step up and allow God to change them from the inside.
I hope today you see yourself the way God does and spur yourself on too. Sometimes I just feel tired and need to count some blessings of life. To see all the things I do have in life and remember that! My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your family and friends. I might not know who reads this, but God does. He has connected you to this page for a reason, he wants you to know that you are important and you do matter. Each of us have a purpose on earth and our legacy will carry on after we enter Heaven. I truly believe that and that's why I do my best daily to live in kindness and share the word of God daily with you. Have a great day!
