IT'S UP TO YOU!
Live your life to be an example to others.
I remember as a child, every day at school we said The Pledge of Allegiance. It meant something to me and I always heard ONE nation UNDER God. I was in Brookley's Kindergarten Class yesterday and I heard that they only said The Pledge of Allegiance one day a week, on Mondays. The beginning of the school week and the other days, they do not say it.
As a nation and individuals, we need to continue to teach our children about God. About all the people who went before us to make a better way. Yet, somewhere along the way, God is being taken out of their daily lives. Many families do not sit around a table for dinner and say a prayer before they eat. Some don't read stories to their child anymore before bed time or pray with them. I do believe we should teach children young and they will not depart from it.
Yet, as our kids grow up, they have freedom to believe what they want and make decisions too. Let us not forget to teach them from our hearts. From a place of peace and love instead of anger and frustrations. We get too busy with work, sports, challenges of one day and we forge to hug them and share hope. I am not saying everyone does this, it is something I've witness over my life. As a child, we never sat around a table and said a prayer and I don't remember anyone reading me a book. But I have my children and my grandchildren. I will teach and live an example before them no matter what they choices are in life. I want to live in today and do my best daily to show others I care.
Life isn't about things, but time spent in right places. It might be short time, but time is priceless and a gift beyond words. I thank God for Women and Men who made positive changes in our lives. Who open doors for freedom and we can tell generations to come about one life that made a difference. Throughout the Bible are such people and throughout our Nation are people who made positive choices as well. Through your own life, there is someone who stands out that you will never forget.
I will never forget going to a church as a kid and hearing that JESUS LOVES ME! I was a broken little kid who felt so alone and that one Sunday School teacher planted hope that day. I don't remember her name or her face, but I so remember her words. I remember that High School teacher who taught me about real friendship and people who will come and go in your life. I remember hearing a message from a Pastor who said, Faith is important to have and miracles happen. I remember so much negative and I often need to cast that off, but I remember so much good I need to talk more about in my life.
I prayed for real friends and God gave them to me. I prayed for miracles to happen and I've seen them happen. I prayed for strength just to make it through a hard season of life and taking a deep breathe for a new beginning. I've seen the wonders of God and I've lived to see enough change to be negative and positive. Even if you do not have kids, please mentor a child. Maybe you think you are only a neighbor or auntie, uncle or no title in a life, but you are title of a person. You are a title of hope to a world that is changing negative daily and you can be the source of positive everywhere you go.
Psalm 78:4-6 New Living Translation
4 We will not hide these truths from our children;
we will tell the next generation
about the glorious deeds of the Lord,
about his power and his mighty wonders.
5 For he issued his laws to Jacob;
he gave his instructions to Israel.
He commanded our ancestors
to teach them to their children,
6 so the next generation might know them--
even the children not yet born--
and they in turn will teach their own children.
In times of trouble, we hear stories of others saying it wasn't their fault but it points fingers to someone else. It becomes time to take responsibilities for our own choices in life. It is time to daily say our pledge and thank God for a new day. Sorrows come and life changes, but as teach and someday go to Heaven, someone will remember you and your legacy of love. I want to be remember for kindness and love in lives of all I meet. Yet, I have those who do not like me and words that pierce my heart. But it's okay, not everyone will understand you or agree with you, but do your best to do God's will. Each day is valuable and worth more than money. It's a chance to make a difference in your life and others.
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog, your families and you friends. Remember you make a difference and you are important! It's up to each of us to pray for others. I totally believe that someone in my past prayed for me before I was born. I prayed for my children before I had them, I prayed for my grandchildren before I knew them, and I pray for their children when they get older. Yes, I pray for generations to come that they will know the Lord all the days of their lives. That their lives will be filled with joy, hope and peace of God. I hope you will join me in praying for your loved ones even before you know them. Pray for real friendships in God and generations to come. The past changes by each of us doing something different to make that happen.
I might not have known things as a child or had what I wanted in life, but I can certainly do my best daily to make positive things happen. We do not all have mentors or do we? Look around and see who is important in your life and what kind of life they live. Look up to God and he is a source of strength, encouragement to face hard stuff and lean to him for understanding. Open you heart to a new beginning today and allow the freedom of God to enter your heart. Changing you and your outlook on somethings will change your heart. Happy new day to you!
