As a kid, I wanted time from people. I would get asked what do you want for your birthday? I would give my answer to only find I couldn't have that. So I began to say, I want you to go outside with me. I want to play and have friends. I want to be liked my others and not made fun of in life. I didn't like getting bullied in school. It was as a child, I would find myself saying ONE DAY, I will grow up and teach others to be kind to kids.
Over the years, I found the same thing happen. I asked for things in life and I don't get them. Don't get me wrong, I do get a lot of great things, but I'm talking about certain things. Somedays I still feel like a kid inside and I think that's why I love to play with my granddaughters. I love going to a park, riding a bike and playing with chalk outside with them. I find joy in being their grand mother and still be a teacher to them. Teaching them that kindness is the right thing and how important one day is in life. Sometimes Brookley gets concerned about tomorrow and I tell her we must live in today. Have fun and enjoy the now of life. She is only 7 years old and no need to go so far ahead. Willow who is about to be 5 years old is concerned with driving and who will buy her first car. Kids think far into the future.
What's on your mind today? Are you thinking too far into the future and need to live in today? I do at times and today is one of those days. I am 61 years old and I wonder what the next ten years will bring. Then I bring my mind back to today and live with hope of this day. God has created us to live and to live in freedom of thoughts. Keep your thoughts in line with the word of God and allow yourself to experience precious moments of this day. A warm day in my town today and the beauty of hearing birds singing. There is peace in the air and I love it.
Life doesn't always happen the way we think it will and doing our best in each is important. You are important and precious to God. Never doubt his power of moving waters, wind and sky. Never doubt his power of creating a miracle in your life and sharing moments that you just can't get back. Live in today and count blessings of life. Every time I pick up a penny, I think of this: IN GOD WE TRUST. It is written and it is purposed.
Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV)
A psalm of David.1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
God puts joy into our souls and it becomes refreshed when we think upon his goodness. He leads us and gives us places of rest. See what you do have today and know that you lack nothing. When you give God your life, you are giving him control to guide it. Although we have free will and that sometimes gets us on wrong roads of life. Be careful, guard your heart and mind.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
