1 Corinthians 11:1 New International Version (NIV)
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
IT DOES NOT FIT ~
Many things do not fit in life. One is carrying the wrong attitude. Jesus left us an example of life and we are to follow his. I seen people who are spiritual and they walk a different life. They see good in things and try hard with their example. Yet, they are human and make mistakes too. Do you know someone like this? I do and I count their lives so important to me. Doing your best is all we can do in life. Jesus knew we would make mistakes and offered another chance. Jesus calls us to step into his plan of life.
MARK 8:34-38 (NIV)
The Way of the Cross
34 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? 37 Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
GENERATION TO GENERATION ~
As we look around our cities today and country, we can see change. A change that seems to be more violent than ever. Lack of respect and not walking in the way of God at all. If people could only see that negative attitudes do not fit and positive ones would carry us so much further. Yet, it feels to me like our country is divided over politics, religion, race and so much more. One person makes so much money and others struggle with a dollar. Somethings just doesn't seem fair. Let us remember this:
Proverbs 18:21 New International Version (NIV)The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
I find that a negative attitude does not fit for me. It only brings me down and I find myself struggling to overcome it. I remember years ago, my attitude was broken, sad and the feeling no hope. It took time and others praying for me. I could not see beyond my own life and lost the hope in others. God has a plan to draw me back and then to open a door for me to teach. I found my voice in teaching. I saw how broken I use to be and wanted to help others. Our thought pattern matters and our example matters far greater than we might realize. It is process of change and speaking life words over yourself or situation.
Prayer works and things change for each of us. Just like the weather changes daily and we never quite know what one day will bring. A trust in God is important and an attitude of praise. Praying God through it all and asking for guidance his way. Your life is important and someone watches you. Be that light in a dark and share a little hope as you enter a new day. The day will turn to night and we can see things we might have done or things we wish we would have said. Sometimes we do not get an second change in life so be careful your words and actions today.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. I care and I hope you feel that through this blog. Make the best of this new day.
