BIBLE ~ Word of God
Isaiah 43:18-19 New International Version (NIV)
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
HOW DO I FORGET THE PAST ~
I woke up this morning thinking about things I wished would have been different. I am not sure why certain things happen the way they do, but they do. After I surrendered my life to God, I see the importance of forgetting somethings in life. When certain things are brought back to my memory, it's hard all over again. It's that remember button that makes me drift at times, but it's also that remember button that brings my thoughts back to God.
I don't think we ever forget somethings in life, but we learn how to deal with them different. Each day is another step and chance to forgive somethings, forget somethings and press forward to God. Even when I was mad at God, I know he never left me. It was I who left him and he opens his arms through people, words and pulling on my heart again. Not forgiving is stressful and can do a bitter taste in your mouth. Forgiving is important and it doesn't mean you need to let that person back into your life.
Having a made up mind to serve God is important. God forgives and forgets but it doesn't mean that all negative thoughts will be gone. I love the verse 19 above ~ SEE, I AM DOING A NEW THINGS! God wants us to know that each day of life is a new day and God is doing a new thing within us. Maybe we don't always see a physical change on something, but we certainly can feel the peace of God through hard times plus good times. God continues to tell us that he is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. When I think about that, I think about how impossible might look at times in life, but so promising.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
