IF I ONLY KNEW ~
You were broken, treated wrong and dug yourself out a horrible pit, I would have taken time to talk to you. Wow does that sound familiar. People don't want to text you or message you when you are going through a hard season of life for a number of reasons. They find it weird to find words and call it not bugging you. In fact, we need each other in life and need people who will show us they care. Have you ever heard that action speaks louder than words? I certainly have and believe it too.
John 12:27-36 New International Version (NIV)
“Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.
30 Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.
34 The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. 36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them.
We think of others as strong and have so many people around them as strong. What happens when the strong person needs another strong person to help pray? God is able to put people into our path of life to guide us, help us and share hopeful stories. Stories of victories and miracles along the way of life need to be shared. It brings hope to the hopeless and a light to a dark world.
I remember reading stories of people who have killed themselves. So many people would say but they have everything, but did they? The enemy of our soul comes to destroy us inside. He plants thoughts and takes us away from the truth of God. I have just went through a very hard month of my life. I can see how thoughts can overpower reality and how important worship music is to the soul. I speak of faith and trust in God often, but we need each other. We need friends and family who encourage us. We need people who will pray, when we just don't feel like praying. We need friends and family to hold on for us because the battle is a bit strong. I see the importance of connections in life and I know the power of God is real. I also know the power the devil has can move us too if we aren't careful. Recognize the enemy and don't let him have a foothold in your life.
If we aren't careful, we can find ourselves angry with God. God why haven't you answered my prayer or how long do I wait? Questions that take us away from faith. The Bible says:
Ephesians 4:26-27 New International Version (NIV)26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
My thoughts and prayers are with you today and thank you for taking the time to read this. I value your prayers today too. I will continue to pray for your friends and family. Purpose this a good day and never forget to count blessings through it all.
