Hebrews 6:13-20 (NIV)
The Certainty of God’s Promise
When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” 15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
16 People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. 17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.
18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
I WILL FOLLOW ~
The anchor holds
It is impossible for God to lie, so believe big. His promises throughout the Bible are real and he wants the best for each of us. I believe in life, we wonder if the anchor of our soul will hold true. It takes time and a process of knowing that God does not change. Verse 19 ~ We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. God has words written, but it's up to each of us to believe.
I will follow after the word of God and watch the road of travel. Life is mapped out and my life continues in changes. One things remains the same and that is God. His love continues to be real in my soul and guides so gently. It is when we take our eyes off of circumstances and put them upon God, that things change in a deeper relationship with God. Let us remember that not everything changes overnight. Life is a process of change and your life is an example to someone.
The Bible speaks about generations to generations. As we look back on people we know in our personal lives, can you remember someone who you looked up in life? That someone who truly changed your thinking by a word or action. I can think of several people along my path of life. I learn daily and I receive daily words of wisdom from others. I'll learned in my life that the anchors in loving God. I might get upset at times, but the bible says that we can be angry but sin not. That's a fine line my friends and it's just better not to get angry.
WE NEED EXAMPLES ~
