Words spoken that are so true at times of life. Things hit us suddenly and we are faced with new beginning whether we want them or not. I just had a friend (Amanda) text me. I've known her for 13 years and she always seems to know exactly when to message me. I know that God connected our lives years ago and I will forever be grateful. She came to my first class I taught at Hillside for women in 2004. She actually taught me things from her own experiences. Had I never taught this class, I might not have met her. She is the age of my kids and our friendship was given by God. She listens to the holy spirit and I felt to share how important it is to let God use your life. One life makes a difference and we need each other while we wait on the Lord or enjoy happy moments.
Psalm 119:114 New International Version (NIV)
You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.
God is my place of quiet retreat ~
I put my trust in God and yet I am human. I have thoughts that carry me away and thoughts that bring me back to God's word. His plan is to keep us safe and shield us from things in life. I've travel a road the last two weeks I never expected. My daughter (Tracy) loosing their family house in the Napa Fires which is their home. Feelings, emotions and needing to find a new place to live until the house is rebuild. People's words can be harsh and my heart has hurt because of words spoken. It's never just a house to a person who owns the house. It's never just things, when it's your things that were destroyed. It's never just shoes, when you don't have shoes to put on. It's never just clothes, when it's your body that needs them. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. We need to meet people at where they are in life. I said before that Tracy is okay and that statement of broken but breathing is real.
Tracy has put her hope in the Lord, but it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. We have seen many people come along side Tracy and Sean during this season. Each day more people show them they care. The our pouring of love is amazing and so needed during this season. Keeping Psalm 119:114 in my mind o knowing I put my hope in the Lord. We are truly grateful for everything so many people have said or done for her family.
Philippians 2:1-7 New International Version (NIV)
Imitating Christ’s Humility
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
WAITING ~ It is not always easy, but God is faithful. Keeping he same mindset as Christ is important during all seasons of life. Our example goes further than we might realize in life. I don't know what you are facing today, but my prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Remember that fear and faith can't be in the same spot, so choose faith! Thank you for taking time to read my blog and keep my family in your prayers too.
