We often wait for those three words, "I LOVE YOU". Finding out as we grow up, it means different things to people and expressed different ways.
As I begin to think of the love of God, I can not only feel it, but see it through the beauty of our land. Also, through caring hearts of others and recalling great moments that showed action to my life.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Reading the Bible brings back thoughts to me. Showing kindness is one of my greatest desires in life. I also have a desire to be shown kindness back. It doesn't always happen that way and I find myself expecting others to treat me the way I treat them. That is a wrong motive my friend, because we should do things out of the goodness of our hearts without expecting back. That only sets us up for hurts and frustrations.
The Bible speaks of guarding our hearts:
Proverbs 4:23-27 (NIV)23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
Be careful in using the three words mentioned above: I LOVE YOU
Loving someone can be easy or hard at times. Showing love to our neighbors, to our family and friends. Living a lifestyle of Jesus is what it's all about my friend. Not only do we want his life, but need to show his love to ourselves. Speak life words to yourself and cast away feelings that are only feelings. Taking another step in life and learning from the past. You will find another step waiting that holds faith, trust and new beginnings in a new day.
Different ways to express I love you ~
I love you because you spent time with me
I love you because you are my friend
1 John 4:19 (NIV)19 We love because he first loved us.
Let us be careful because I love you doesn't mean I am in love with you! Three little words that hurts a heart and the well spring of it runs dry. Put your hope, trust and love in God and wait. If we wait upon the Lord, he will bring us our mates for life. If we settle, then we are drifting away from the plan of God. In love ~ takes two people willing to give and take. Building a foundation upon God and growing daily together and not apart. This is not a marriage message but a careful message.
What does I LOVE YOU mean to you?
Be careful who you say I LOVE YOU too and how you say it. Over time, we find that people leave our lives that have said I love you. We watch things change and pain comes. But when we hear those words from God, they are real and they are solid. HE FIRST LOVES US and don't forget that. It's our turn to love God back in many ways. Showing others through our lives and loving ourselves as he does. Forgiving and forgetting is important on some matters of life.
LOVE MEANS ~ a special connection and real friendship
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
