Throughout my life time:
I have witness how the choice of one person can bring consequences not only in their life, but others lives as well.
I have also witness the choice of one person making a positive choice and how it affect their life plus others.
The Bible gives us examples of men and women who pressed forward in life. One man was named Job and his example continues to inspire. I will show you the beginning and the end of his example now, but read about all the in-between stuff. He went through hard stuff and God heard him as he cried out.
Job 1 New International Version (NIV)
1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blamelessand upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
The story continues of Job's life. His life inspired others and he kept pressing forward.
Let us skip to verse 6~12.
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them.
7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
9 “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.
10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
12 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
STORY ~ JOB
You will need to take sometime to read his story. His life not only affected him, but his family. His choice was to stay faithful to God through it all. Yet, let us realize a real conversation went on between God and the devil. God knew the heart of Job and he knew that nothing would sway him. Job went through some crazy stuff in life and continued to serve God. The end of Job's life was greater than the beginning.
12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.
14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.
15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.
16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.
17 So Job died, being old and full of days.
Job went through lots of changes and continued on the path God created for him, his family and left us an example of determination in doing the right thing. Serving God from the middle of our hearts. What about you? What you are facing today might be huge and you need to know that God is on your side. Why did God allow Job to go through all this stuff and be tested? God knew the outcome. Just like he knows the outcome of your life.
Job's story inspires me to keep pressing forward. It also shows me the faithfulness of God and the importance of family. God's plan wasn't to destroy Job, but to show the power of God through his life. He continued to say yes to God and God's favor was upon his life. God's favor is upon your life friend. Look beyond the circumstance and see God's promises. Promises to keep you and guide you each day of life. So many more promises are found within the Bible.
