I CHOOSE PEACE ~

There are times in life when things seem to overwhelm me.  My thoughts get carried a lot further than I realize and I find myself in a stressful time.  It takes me turning my thoughts back to God and taking that deep breath of peace.

John 14:27 New International Version (NIV)27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Look at life like this, God gave me a gift of peace and it's my choice go to it.  For example, my friend gave me a book that is full of hope.  Short stories of lives and victories. It also has sorrows in it but it represents so many lives.  It has become a roadmap to my life and I choose peace as I read it.  I see the hand of God working throughout lives within this book.  This book is called the Bible and is full of power, hope, peace, love and so much more.  My friend's name I mention above is Jesus and I call him daily.

Proverbs 18:24  New International Version (NIV)

24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

FRIEND ~
When we think of a real friend, we think of one who is there for us doing all seasons of life.  I can think of many people who I call a true friend.  I find peace when I call that person, because I know they care and will be there for me.  I also have a trust in that person who I know cares.  I have friends who I call to pray for me or my family.  The Bible speaks of two or more, then Jesus is there.

Matthew 18:19  New International Version (NIV)

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

It often takes us reaching out to someone to agree with us in prayer.  It takes reaching out to God and he hears our prayers.  A real friend who is named Jesus did so much for us before we were born and continues to guide us through the words of the Bible.  Let us not forget where God has brought us from and keep that hope in a new day of where he is taking us too.  Changing our mindset to hope, truly brings peace to our life.

Have you ever heard that saying of seeing a glass half full of water or half empty?  It is our view that makes a difference. I choose to see the positive things in life and I choose to rest in God on times I just can't quite get in life.  God is bigger than our yesterdays of life and wise enough to guide this day in peace.  Choose peace my friends and rest in knowing that God has this.  What ever is in your life, God can and will give peace. He said through Jesus above that he gave us peace already.  Peace is right here and now it's time to believe it!

My prayers continue for you, your friends and family.
