In the picture, the city is so close and yet far away! The fairy boat travels across the waters and the destination is ahead. The waves will come and go. I see a light in the distance. A ray of hope as the journey continues. The weather stays calm and excitement builds as the becomes closer.
I often think of God and his amazing power as things change. I recall words in the Bible and know that my example matters. There are people who will hear of my story or my story and we may never know that. I want you to know right now, you are important! The things you have gone through will be used for greater things or bitter thing in life. Your choices matter and God wants to be in control of all things in your life.
We just celebrated Easter and a time of Jesus rising again. He lives inside of you and me after we surrender our hearts to him. Sending up praise and prayers his way daily. Seeing a God who loved so much that he sent his only son.
Matthew 5:14-16 New International Version (NIV)
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
I CAN SEE THE CITY ~
Inside the city, you will see shining lights at night. The light shows us the path in which we must go. God has sent his only son Jesus to guide us and a shining life within us. Jesus is a light that can not be hid. Scripture continues:
Matthew 16:13-20 English Standard Version (ESV)
Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ
13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
THE KEY TO THE CITY ~
The answer you have been waiting on, in this journey of life.
Jesus is so worth the travels of deep waters, high building and a foundation built by him. The keys are love, hope, peace and the list goes on. There is no time to waste a day of life thinking about things you can not change. It becomes time to change the things you can. It is as if we are a slow boat traveling to our destination and yet we see the city before us. The city called Heaven and place of peace forever. In the mean time, the journey continues and we must put our hope in God daily. No time to waste and surround our lives with those of same character. The character of Jesus and kindness shines in so many people and sharing encouraging words matter.
I try hard to think before I act. Sometimes I need a few minutes to process thoughts, before I speak. Words stick with us and matters. Speak words of life to yourself and take care of you. Not everything goes the way we think it will, but it certainly can go in peace of mind. It takes time to process things we hear suddenly or see in life. I can process seeing the city ahead, but I can not process a suddenly phone that I might get in life. Just remember, that God is in control and life is a daily process of changes. Your life is a light into a dark world after giving your heart to God. Go today in peace and live life each day to the fullest.
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog. I care and I hope you can feel that. Never pointing fingers are anyone else. I've made mistakes in life and found forgiveness in God. One life makes such a difference. The past is the past and now it's a new day! There is freedom in thoughts and power behind them. Let your thoughts travel in the right direction, toward the light of God.
