Jesus remains the same
I grew up in the 1960's where people were saying Jesus was coming back soon. I remember not understanding that statement and you needed to have your heart ready. There would be dates given and that day would come, then go. Jesus didn't come back and I questioned why people would say dates. This is said in the Bible:
Matthew 24:36-44 English Standard Version (ESV)
No One Knows That Day and Hour36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

One day Jesus is coming back, but no one knows the time
It's just like our lives now. We have a set birth date from God and a time to die. Nobody knows those exact dates either. Until the day of our end on earth, we can do our best to help others. We will be remembered by one person or several people. Our actions can last a lifetime and generations to come. I remember being little (10 years old) and there was a lady across the street named Granny. Granny made french toast in a deep grease pot. It was amazing and I don't remember anything else. So kindness and french toast from a older woman. I wanted to grow up and be a older person who made a difference in others lives too.
Kids remember things good and bad. I had a friend named Connie who took me to her church one time. In that one time visit, I heard that Jesus loves me. I was given a small piece of wood with those words on it. I felt loved and kept it by my bed for years. I wish I still had that but the point is, I kept that though in my life for over 50 years now. I didn't know Jesus for many years, but I knew he loved me.
How about you? Do you know that Jesus loves you? He forgives and forgets our mess ups in life. So many changes over one's lifetime. I would rather a person not make a promise to me, than not to keep it. We must be careful our words and promises to others. I am old enough now that I know people leave us on earth. Jesus left too, but he sent a comforter called the Holy Spirit. So that way Jesus can walk with daily and know that his plan is a good one.
No, I don't know why certain things happen in our lives. I do know that only God can give peace in the middle of it all. Days can be ones of mixed emotions and wonder. I do wonder why Heaven will be like but I don't want to visit it too soon. I love time with my family and friends. I love seeing a new day and know I have another opportunity to be make this day a good one. I hope you do too!
