IN LIFE ~ There are list for many things. We often wonder if we will make the list when it comes to certain things in life. At Christmas, some of us teach kids this: you are either on the good list or naughty list. Santa is watching and be careful of your actions. Of course, kids want to be on the good list to get presents.
I AM ON THE LIST ~
How about our spiritual lives? What list on are you in life? The good list or naughty list becomes ever so real. The Bible reads that we have all sinned, but there is hope through Jesus.
Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
An example that becomes to real is picking people on a team. I remember being in school and the teacher picked two captains for a baseball team. Each captain was to pitch who the next person would be, until all was picked. I was the last person standing and nobody picked me. The team was not even if anyone chose me, so the teacher said I could just sit on the bench. I felt so sad in my heart and not wanted by either captain. I struggled with fitting in anyway in school. So this did not help me at all in middle school.
Life moves forward and I found myself always wanting to fit in. I just wanted to make the list of being wanted and liked in school. School would be over and as an adult, I didn't have many friends in the younger years when my kids was small. It's hard to press into friendships when you struggled being you. After all, who wanted me on their team anyway?
Until one day, I went to church and my heart began to open as I felt something different. Who was this man named Jesus they talked about at Church? A person who cared about everybody and yet I didn't know his story. As I grew older, I would begin the journey of getting to know who Jesus was and continues to be in life. An example of doing what is right and everyone is welcome on his team! A life of forgiveness from mistakes and mess ups. A life that changes when you allow God to direct your life. A hard thing to understand in the beginning, but as time when on, I prayed for understanding. I've grown into a very confident woman of God.
I MADE THE LIST ~
God wanted me and Jesus paid the price. Each of us fit on the team of God and each of us was created to make a difference in this life. Each of us holding a purpose that God has created us to do. We are called to be a witness for Christ and people watch our examples. I am still learning daily and press forward in life. Nobody is perfect or have arrived to know everything. Each of us are driven by something in life. I consider my life being driven by God and want his plan to unfold in a greater way each day. I do my best daily to live kindness and live by what I teach.
KNOW THIS ~
You totally make the list with God and he wants greater things for you. Each day is a new beginning and another chance to make a difference.
As this new day begins, my prayers continue for you, your family and friends!
