Psalm 91 (NIV)
1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
HIS ANGELS ~
14 Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
Read this chapter over again and grab onto the depth of God rescuing me. God will call, help, deliver, honor and give long life. God is able to handle your now of life and mix it into your daily life. Things happen and we don't want to blame God, but ask him how can you press forward. I remember the year 2004 and we were on vacation. In the waters of Cabo, I found myself almost drowning in the water. Along with my husband and friends. My daughter and son came running into the waters to help. Walking along the beach and a riptide got us. I can't swim but my husband held onto me. The waves kept coming and I remember calling God quickly. I said, "please forgive me of all my sins, tell my family and friends I loved him and if I had another chance, I would do what you called me to do TEACH". It was in that moment when someone grabbed my arm and rescued me.
The story continues because Vanessa was only 16 years old and she stood on the beach watching everything. She saw a man and woman run into the waters to help too. When we got out, I told them thank you for helping and one of them said, "don't thank us, thank God". We watched them walk away and suddenly disappear. Was it angels? Could it really be in life form? We sat on the beach crying and trying hard to pull ourselves together. Ana and I still talk about that day years ago, we both believe it was angels and God power over comes everything. We learn from situations of life and it either grows us or stops us.
I came back to my church in 2004 a different person. Our women's pastor Rene, went to a marriage conference and came back with book she wanted me to teach. It began Wednesdays nights at our church and so many lives have been changed because Rene began something, my yes and other ladies yes to a study. God knows how to connect and he does use people. Whether they are real angels or angels we know, God uses them in our lives.
I know work in women's ministry under Darlene our women's pastor now. God is doing a new thing daily in all of us. Friendships are important and staying connected in church. My daughter Tracy told us about Hillside Christian Church when she began Napa Junior College. We had been there every since and love how God has changed us into better people. My husband and I are leaders and do our best to show the love of God through all seasons of life. One yes to God, can open amazing doors.
I hope my story of this inspires you to share it and help someone today in need, want or just a smile. We never know what one life goes through and we need each other in this big world we live in. God bless you through this day and may your life shine brighter than you know. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
