Matthew 4:18-22 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calls His First Disciples
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Let's talk about it ~
Jesus said, "Come, follow me".
HAVE A SEAT and LET'S TALK ~
Jesus told Peter and Andrew that he would send them out to fish for people. They made a decision to follow Jesus. They knew the outcome because Jesus told them they would become fishers of people. How about you today, do believe in Jesus to follow him with your life? He has designed you to do great things for him. Your example will be seen daily and our choices matter. Yes, we are fishers of people too. People watch our lives and can see Jesus within us, if we take on his character. No, we can not heal people like Jesus, but we can pray to Jesus and he can. There is still something about the name of Jesus that travels through generation to generation.
Deuteronomy 5:32-33 New International Version (NIV)
So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. 33 Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
John 8:12 New International Version (NIV)When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Ephesians 2:10 New Living Translation (NLT)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
God's masterpiece ~
Follow his example and know that your life has been planned out a long time ago. Only God knows our beginning, the middle and end. Step into his plan and watch how your life will change. You only have one chance at life and live it to the fullest. Live it with freedom of mind, soul and being. Jesus came to give each of us life and we should cherish that daily.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
