Proverbs 2 New International Version
Moral Benefits of Wisdom
2 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding--
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
GUARD THE WAY ~
I would hope you will have time to read this complete Chapter of Proverbs 2. It continues on into wisdom and guides the way to read and learn. Wisdom is something each of us needs in our lives. It actually helps us to know when to speak and not to speak. The Lord can be a shield to those who walk in blameless the bible says.
Proverbs 16:23-25 New International Version
23 The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent,
and their lips promote instruction.
24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
25 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
I have found in life that some people point fingers. They don't actually take responsibility for their own choices. Time moves forward and some people stay back. They stay back into sadness, defeat and no reason to move forward. They keep reminding someone of their sin or disappointments in life. God forgives and then forgets. It often takes some time to forgive someone and much harder to forget at times, but that's God's plan. Forgiving, but not necessarily putting that person back into our lives. We must separate ourselves from things, people or whatever holds us back from doing what is right.
God doesn't remind of us those sins or mistakes of life. He honestly loves us back into purpose. Into great wisdom from that mistakes or trouble of life is a plan. Things will move out of own way as we keep the mindset of God. Gain wisdom and move forward in life.
On this day July 10,1973, my dad was buried in a cemetery, but his soul went to Heaven. I was 18 years old and the hardest day of my life. He died within our house on July 7th and I can still have flashbacks of that day. My focus over the years was on what people had said during that time, how I was treated and my heart hurt bigger than life itself. My mom wanted to die and cried out every night for such a long time. It totally seems like forever. I'm telling you this story today, because I didn't know then, what I know now in life. I have gained wisdom over the years, but it doesn't mean that doesn't still hurt within my heart because it does.
We should watch our words and our actions when speaking to others. I remember the day of my dad's service, some people from the church came over. They only said it was God's plan to take my dad. I didn't go to church nor did I understand that statement. God would be a God who takes a loved one from a home that needs and loves him? I now understand that the Bible speaks of a season for all things. A time to be born and a time to die. But I believe that they could have spoke words of this, "I don't know how bad your heart must hurt right now, but I'm here if you want to just talk". They could have also said, "I'm sorry and let me know if there is anything I can do". But no, I didn't get that at all.
GUARD YOUR WAY ~
Again, it took time for me to understand statements said and actions done. It has help mold me into who I am today and I understand the importance of wisdom and words. I understand that one day is valuable and we should let wisdom be our guide. I don't know what your story is or who I can help you, but I do know that I pray daily for the readers of my blog, for your family and friends.
God is a God of love and guides us so gently if we let him. I value your time and thankful you read this. We might not understand everything about our lives of today, but I've learned from every experience I have seen. Words can mold us and let those words be positive. Speaking life unto ourselves is important. I've learned to take a deep breathe and just press forward. You can do this too and have a great day!
