For God So Loved the World
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
GOOD FRIDAY ~
Dictionary: the Friday before Easter, a hold day of the Christian church, observed as the anniversary of the Crucifixion of Jesus.
Today many people will focus on Jesus and his life. Celebrations will happen this year over online services with churches. We continue in the shelter in place order from our Governor of California. The virus appears to be slowing down and that's a good sign to keep doing what we are doing. Jesus not only came to save the world, but we can learn from his story. He went about doing good and what his father (God) said to do. I noticed this year more than ever, he had a rough week in his life. Coming up to this day that he was crucified. I think we should stop complaining about anything and start praising God for everything he has already done in our lives!
GOOD FRIDAY ~
Freedom to live for God and freedom to praise him.
Romans 12:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
A Living Sacrifice
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Purpose time to give thanks for the many great things God has already done in your life.
