John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.
Jesus died on the cross for each of our sins. It brought new life to us and we sit this day aside to remember. Generation to generation we are taught about God's love and obedience to him. Each decision rises us up or down in life. Easter is known as the three crosses, Jesus hanging on one cross and Easter Services at Church on Easter Day.
Most kids get a week off of school called Spring Break. Taking time for vacations, family time and Easter gatherings. Can we stop for a few minutes and give thanks unto God for new beginnings in life. Sometimes we forget what Easter is all about. Life gets caught up with Easter Baskets, candy and egg hunts. Kids are excited to see if the Easter Bunny will leave a basket and the great egg hunt will happen for many. There is something about chocolate at Easter time too.
Psalm 145:4 English Standard Version (ESV)
One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
GOOD FRIDAY ~
The day Jesus hung between two thieves and showed compassion. Another chance to enter Heaven and one of the men said yes. It became an act of surrender unto Jesus. Life is different for each of us and knowing Jesus is an individual decision of surrender. God has created each of us for more than we can imagine at times. I realized that I am suppose to write daily and share a few thoughts. God's plan for my life isn't over yet.
There are often Church services on Good Friday. Whether you choose to go or now, there are many who will attend this coming Sunday's church service for God. Kids and adults are in cute clothes plus many stories of Easter Bunnies. I hear kids saying I got an Easter Basket filled with .........and then you see the smiles upon there faces. But what about the child who doesn't get a basket for Easter. I'm just sharing what I see at my church. Church is meant to draw people together to hear about God and his word (Bible). Jesus was sentenced to die and some people were so excited about that. As a mother, I can't even imagine the sorrow his own mother felt as she watched this happen. Read a little now:
John 19-21 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Sentenced to Be Crucified19 Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. 2 The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe 3 and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face.
4 Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” 5 When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”
6 As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”
But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.”
7 The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.”
WOW the chief priests and their officials shouted, "Crucify! Crucify! Think about this for a moment, all because he was the Son of God. Such anger, hate and it happened. Yet, God made a plan out of it and in three days Jesus will rise again but they didn't know this. God shows us his power through out life even now. I hope today you will rest in knowing God is on your side. There is freedom is new beginnings and life after sin for each of us. We all make mistakes, but God makes a way out. Our choices affect others and that affect even more people. Purpose this a day to remember what God has already done in life and be grateful for a new day. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
