We are right in the middle of Mothers Day Weekend. Things will not be the same this year since we are ordered to shelter in place. I hope that family drives by houses of their mom or FaceTime them. Not everyone will be able to get together. Since flying in a plane is not an option, many will miss time with their moms and loved ones. Many planned vacation that were canceled. Yet, we must find the good in this day and thank God for another day of life. Easy to say at times and harder to do. Let us focus today on how God says, "Be still and know that I am God".
Psalm 46 New International Version (NIV)
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth. A song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
GOD IS ~
an ever-present help in trouble.
"Be still, and know that I am God." Words given to us by God. Words to live by and words that come alive for me. Just knowing God is in charge makes my heart feel peace. I have learned to trust God in all seasons of life. I've been through hard things and I've seen miracles happen. I also learn to hold on during times of not understanding what is happening. I have learned to live by faith.
Romans 10:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
God, today I thank you for Mothers Day Weekend. I choose not to focus on the way things used to be or the things I feel I will miss out on this weekend. I choose to live one day at a time and count blessings of being someone you created for a greater purpose. I pray for readers of my blog, their family and friends too. I pray for those who want to be moms and aren't. I pray for those moms who miss their children and family because of this virus that has hit our world. I ask you God to help those who need to feel you this day. Send a spark of hope, peace and love. I have found we need humans in our lives. You created us not to be alone and connect us. Help us to feel you this day, AMEN
I hope you will purpose this a good day and make the best of a strange situation with shelter in place.
