A promise forever!
Genesis 9 New Living Translation (NLT)
God Confirms His Covenant ~
Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. 2 All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power. 3 I have given them to you for food, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. 4 But you must never eat any meat that still has the lifeblood in it.
5 “And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person’s life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. 6 If anyone takes a human life, that person’s life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. 7 Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth.”
8 Then God told Noah and his sons, 9 “I hereby confirm my covenant with you and your descendants, 10 and with all the animals that were on the boat with you—the birds, the livestock, and all the wild animals—every living creature on earth. 11 Yes, I am confirming my covenant with you. Never again will floodwaters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth.”
12 Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. 13 I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. 14 When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, 15 and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. 16 When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”
17 Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”
GOD CONFIRMS ~
I like to look into the sky and see the rainbow of all colors. It is a quick reminder that God made a promise and it continues forever. Throughout the Bible are more promises of God. He wants to give you the desires of your heart. Every moment of life is a breath that God gives you. Jeremiah 29:11 carries words of a plan, a promise and a future.
The sun comes out after the rain. We can smell the freshness in the air and look into the sky to see no more rain. It's not just about the rain or no rain, but about the power of God through his word. A higher plan to your life than you might realize. God is still in charge of life, death, weather and so much more. Let us not forget to praise God through it all and rest in his plan for your life.
There might be times of life when you don't feel important. Maybe you feel as if you don't fit in places of life. My personal story is always wanting to fit in. Growing up I had two friends who I quickly realized wasn't my friends at all. They were kind to me, but they had secrets. I would hear them speaking and ask what was they talking about, but I never knew the secret. I knew that kids laughed at me in school because I struggled with self confidence. As I grew older and even as an adult, I would find those feelings still popping up.
I had to come to a point in my mind that my life was important. There would be those around me who would see me different and know my heart. My heart might not always shine bright to others, but my face paints a picture of happiness. Looking deep inside myself to find joy and peace that I've found in God. I also have people who truly love me now and I feel it. I'm here today to tell you (reader of my blog) that you matter and that you are important. Just as the rains came and the rainbow came out, so does the things you face in life. Somethings go away and we see the promises of God remain. It becomes a choice to think positive and look into the mirror to speak life to yourself.
I hope this all makes sense to you today. You are important and never doubt that. The rainbow remains us of promises and that God is real. The sky is painted different everyday and God wants you to enjoy this life you have been given. Life changes, people change and you change. Change is not always easy but a good thing. New beginnings of a new day and new thoughts. Let somethings go and don't try to fit into so many things in life. Fit into the ones that God has created for you and step into purpose. Pray that God will send real friends and open your communication with others. I did that and my life changed forever. It's like a giant rainbow in my heart. I see things different and enjoy this life!
My prayers continue for the readers of my blog.
