Psalm 37:25 (NIV)
25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
I can personally say that I have been young and now I am older. I have seen many things in life, but I find God faithful. Through it all I've learned to trust in God and lean not to my own understanding on some things of life. I started attending Hillside Christian Church over 15 years ago my husband. Our two teenager kids already went there. We found it a place of new beginnings and major connections to others. Some friendships have come and gone, while others remains strong.
In 2004 I started co-leading a class on Wednesday nights for women. Many women of different generations and yet one connection which is God. It is time of all generations to step up and lead as God speaks to their hearts. People get offended in church or disappointed in people, but I know that God is still God and people are human. I've made my own mistakes over the years and I still hear God calling me to lead by example. Daily I do my best and live moves forward.
Psalm 78 (NIV)
1 My people, hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will utter hidden things, things from of old--
3 things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
8 They would not be like their ancestors--
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.
As it is written, I was young and now I'm old (older) and God is faithful
Let us live our lives day by day and moment by moment. Leading others by example and living the best we can according the word of God. I don't know much about my ancestors but I believe someone along the way prayed. I believe much prayer went up for generations to come. I say this, because I pray now for generations to come. I pray for my children, my grandchildren, their children and their mates. I pray for healthy families and divorce will end. I pray for much happiness and needs to be met. I pray for their spiritual lives as well. My point is this, it's for the now generation but also for generations to come.
I thank God that he saw be brave and stronger than I thought. He opened the door to ministry and I walked through. I know that God has called me to write, share life with others and send encouragement through this blog. I know that we can feel alone and misunderstood at times. I also know that God understands me completely. We don't know what others went through before us, but we can read about it in the Bible. We can also hear stories of older people and younger people. Let us not be rebellious or stubborn. Let us learn quickly of God's way and live our lives in freedom.
I'm thankful that you have time to read this. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
