Happy new day ~
Proverbs 18:24 (NIV)
A man of too many friends comes to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
FRIENDSHIP ~
Never forget that you have a real friend in Jesus
JOHN 15:15 (NIV)
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Jesus calls us friend. In any friendship, it takes communication. I read in proverbs 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm. Over time I have found different types of friendship. All are equally important and yet so different. Some people we can not talk to in a long time, but when we see that person, it's like no time ever past between us. Other friendships are a daily communication and so needed. A person who knows us and wants to walk through all situations of life.
FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS ~
This takes a daily communication on our part. He is right there daily and wants us to worship him, seek him and acknowledge him. He guides us gently and put people in our path for a reason. A greater lesson is to be learned in life. Friendship is not about one person, but two people.
Matthew 6:33-34 New International Version (NIV)
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Remember the kid game called, "hide and seek"? That is when someone hides and someone else goes to find them. It takes action on the part of the person who is seeking the other person. I can totally relate this to God. He wants us to seek and know exactly where he is. He knows exactly where I live and it's so fun when you find that person.
God isn't hiding from us. He is right here and willing to listen. We must run our thoughts to God and allow him freedom to help us in life. Life is so short and we often miss out on things about thinking about broken friendships or people who have moved away. You can keep a great friendship, but the truth is, things change because you don't have that daily communication anymore. We grow in different ways, but God can still keep us connected.
Hebrews 10:24 New International Version (NIV)
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds
Be encouraged today and make the best of this new day given by God. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to read this and know that I care.
