I am a big fan of the TV Show, "I LOVE LUCY". Lucy makes me smile just thinking about her. Lucy had the thought and Ether went along. They made people laugh in the 1950's and still today over reruns today. Laughter is good for each of us and so is friendship!
The Bible speaks of friendship and communication. I often think of how God brought the animals two by two into an arch that Noah and his family built. They were lead by the spirit of God. God knew the importance of family and connecting. Friendship is a gift from God.
Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-19 (NIV)
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
John 15:12-15 (NIV)
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Requires kindness, communication, laughter and more! To have a friend, you must be a friend. Jesus went about doing his father's business and communicated with people. I truly believe that friendship is a gift from God and he brings lives together for purpose. We can learn from each other and grow together. There will be good times and hard times. Sharing life with anyone else is giving and taking. There are different types of friendships too.
We must guard our hearts in life. Make sure you keep healthy friendships. Life is short and time is important with others but also time with God is so important. My prayers continue for you, your family and friends.
